Toddler at the Table

My daughter who will be 22 months next week currently sits in a Safety 1st Grow with Me Portable Booster Seat at the kitchen table. She still fits in the seat but she is growing so tall that she can’t move her legs because of the table edge that comes down about 2-3 inches from the table. She is still too small to sit at the table on a regular chair. We’ve looked at other seats but the base is so high on a lot of them I don’t know what else to do or look for. I really don’t want the end result to be phone books. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

We use a kitchen stool. One of the metal ones that has a step and a seat with the handle curving out like the back of a chair. It is perfect for our table and both our 6year old and 2 year old love to sit on it and our 2 year old can get on it by himself thanks to the step. You can find them for $20 at Fleet Farm

Hi J., I use the kooshie booster from Onestep Ahead, but IKEA also makes a chair for toddlers. Its an actual chair or a small stool, made just for toddlers and preschoolers who are inbetween a booster and a highchair, but still aren't tall enough to sit in the regular chair. You may even find one that matches the rest of your chairs. Hope this helps, A. Mother of 2 boys 14 and 8 and twin girls 2 1/2.

My daughter is actually 5 and she sits in a fancy wooden highchair. We removed the tray, push it up to the table and it just looks like a tall chair with arm rests. She loves it and isn't willing to give it up so I just let her stay in it.
