prune juice is the best! You can mix it with another type of juice to hide the flavor; however, both my boys loved it! I would mix it with apple sometimes, but mostly they liked it by itself.
Yesterday I was reserching my toddlers constipation, pain and black stools and read in alot of the moms awnsers about a juice I think it was sweet plum something - i thought I saved them and bookmarked but now cant find it- does anyone know the juice that was being recommended?

I think the juice you are looking for is Plum Smart. It is usually near the prune juice. I have tried it myself and it tastes pretty good. I had to give it to my son for a little extra help in going. He already ate lots of fruit and vegetables but sometimes needed some extra. I thought this was better than any medicine as the problem wasn't serious. I also checked with our pediatrician and she thought it was a good idea to start with.
Best of Luck to you!
Get her on a magnesium supplement, it will absolutely loosen her stools and keep her regular. It is so effective, you actually have to be careful not to give too much because it will loosen things up too much. And its all natural. We have used kids CALM for quite a while, the adult CALM you can find at any health foods store, but I haven't been able to find the Kids version yet so I order online. The last order I got I found out that the powdered version is being discontinued and replaced with Kids CALM Multi, which is a juice that has the magnesium supplement and also fruits/veggies and fish oil. You give half a capful (we mix it in their morning juice) and the kids don't seem to mind the difference. A bottle is around 20 bucks and lasts about a month. I'm sure any magnesium supplement would work though. Good luck to you!
I wonder what you are feeding your toddler - try more fruit, steamed veggies and grain and less proteins (meat & cheese).
Yes it comes in a pck of 6 i think its yellow Cans its prune juice
Before you give anything to your daughter, run it by the pediatrician. Usually prune juice is recommended because of it's high fiber content. Giving it to her, pear juice, apple juice are not a concern (just make sure they're 100% juice to get as much fiber as possible).
Our daughter (2 years old), too, has chronic constipation and has to take Miralax daily. It was once an Rx medication, and it is generally safe, but don't take our advice on how much to give or whether you should. Your pediatrician really needs to help you assess that.
Black, tarry stools can be the sign of a more serious condition, so I highly recommend at least a call if not an office visit to determine the cause and the best treatment.
Toddler magic tea is pretty amazing. My 16 months old son seemed to have tummy troubles and gas starting in the late afternoon and would be up for hours, screaming, at night. After drinking this for a couple of days (since I'm breastfeeding), he wakes up happy and smiles and coos a whole lot more.
I just took my daughter to the doctor this week for constipation. She started either being constipated or holding her BMs and I got her to go poop on the potty twice a couple weeks ago and thought I'd start potty training. She did awesome, though no poop. She didn't poop for 4 days and when she either tried or actually finally did it was excruciating for her. She would scream it was horrible both for her and me. I felt so bad for her. I was cutting back a lot on the milk and giving her apple and prune juice but it didn't really seem to help much.
Anyways, the doctor told me to give her a suppository to get the poop out. He could feel the poop in her! He said not to do the miralax before the suppository because it would just build up onto what was already there. I needed to get out what was in there. Shortly after we got hom from the doctor she actually went on the potty and later in the day I gave her the suppository and some more came out. He said not to do it for more than two days. I didn't do it yesterday because she didn't act like she didn't need to poop, she didn't go at all yesterday. I think I will give her the 2nd suppository today though. We go back to see the doctor on monday to be sure the poop is out and that she is back to normal. He said if the suppository doesn't help then to do the miralax and then if that doesn't help then go to a GI doctor.
I hope my novel helped some! Sorry it was so long. Good luck.
Was it plumsmart? That one seemed to work well with my daughter and it doesn't taste like prune juice.
I know my daughter has been battling constipation since she was 6 months old and have tried everything. Miralax is what I've been giving her, DR says it's very safe and can use it everyday. Keeps everything in balance. She's 2 and I give her 1/4 capful a day. Pear juice is also a good one too. Keep feeding the fruits and veggies, I know it's defintley hard to do
