I didn't know under which category I should put this on, but here it goes. I have 28 month old twin girls. One has long long thick hair, and the other one has very fine, very little hair (the hair she has is long but when i comb her hair i can even see her scalp) from how little hair she has (compared to her sister).
I have never cut the length but i have cut the bangs. I haven't thought much about it but now I am. I am wondering why do they have such difference in how much hair they have. Could this be something health related? I don't know but wanted to her moms thoughts on this. thanks

I forgot to mention they are fraternal twins. one looks exactly like me and the one with thin hair looks like her dad
I have heard that horse shampoo is really good for thickening and growing hair. You might want to try that.
I have twin girls also, but they are now 15 years old. There is a difference in the hair. One's is much thinker and less manageable than the other. I don't think this is health related because it never came up in all these years. Has their pediatrician said anything? Is it thin enough that she has bald spots?
My girl's hair was very fine but by the time they were six months old it mostly fell out. The hair that grew in was still fine but more curly. Now their hair is corkscrew curly, tangles easily and needs to be relaxed every couple of months.
I don't know if this helps, but if they are otherwise healthy and their pediatician has not raised any questions, I would not worry about it too much.
You didn't mention if they are identical twins or fraternal. If they're fraternal, it's probably just the different genes, however, if they are identical twins, I would think that they would have VERY similar hair texture. Either way, it can't hurt to ask their pediatrician about it at the next visit.
As you said they are fraternal, so they are going to be different in many circumstances. I'd check with the ped. and after that not worry about. Also, my daughter had strait hair until one, then began getting a funny wave to it. Some hair strands are wavy, other straight. (It's lending to the thought of frizzy...like mine) Good luck, Jen

I don't think having thin hair has any thing to do with health. I was also born with thin hair. My mother decided to cut my hair very often, the more you cut the hair the stronger it will get. When i was growing up i didn't like the fact that i always had short hair but now that i'm an adult i can't thank her enough for doing that. My hair is still thin & that will not change but it is a lot healthier & stronger do to the fact that she was always cutting it.
I hope this helps you. I think my mother did the right thing in cutting my hair every 4-6 months.

Most likely, its just a different hair type. I would make sure she is getting a well balanced diet, and also, maybe consider talking with your pediatrician about daily vitamins. My girls were about a year and half when we started them on daily vitamins. I wouldnt think it is anything to be concerned with, but just to be safe, talk with her doctor. Even if its just to help you feel better :)
I have twins also, only boy/girl. My son has BEAUTIFUL hair (broke my heart when I gave him a hair cut). It's blond and thick and curly. My daughter, well, her hair is very fine. It's full, but has no shape to it whatsoever and it's fair choppy..kinda makes it hard to do anything with. I've never had to give her a haircut except for her bangs. My son, however, had long curly hair that I cut off 'cause I was tired of people thinking he was a girl. Both their father and I have relatively healthy hair (mine is long, thick and naturally curly and honestly, I've forgotten what his looks like). I'm sure that, with time, it will grow in.

does the one who looks like her dad, have her dads hair? maybe that is the reason?
