Toddler Swimming Lessons near Media?

Tragically, I just learned that a child from our home community, the same age as my daughter, drowned in a farm pond while she was playing outside with other children. I am instantly in search of local swimming lessons for my toddler. We just moved here from out of state, so I'm not sure where to start. We don't have a pool or pond, but neither did our friend - it was an accident at a neighbor's house. Any advice on a pool that does YOUNG child lessons? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

You might want to check your local YMCA. Most offer swim classes for kids as young as 6 months old. I take my 3 1/2 year old toddler to the YMCA in West Chester. He started swim lessons there when he was 6 months old and has been going there ever since. I know that there is a YMCA on Rt. 1, not too far from Media. I think it's called the Rocky Run YMCA. The YMCA swim classes for kids under 3 usually require that the parent is in the pool with the child. Once they turn 3 they can do the classes that don't require the parent be in the water.

There is the Rocky Run YMCA on Rte. 1 or if you join any local pool they usually have someone to give lessons.

We're joining the Hidden Hallow Swim Club at Linvillas (it is a FANTASTIC kid pool) and they have private lessons for $125 for 5 sessions, or group lessons. Just go to Linvilla's website and it will link you to the swim club.

Find your local YMCA. They all offer todder swim classes with a parent. Then your daughter can move on up to classes without you being in the pool.
Ask a few of your new neighbors where they suggest. Maybe there are other families with young children that you could take the same class together.

My daughter started taking swimming lessons at WCU during the summers when she was 3. I think they go as young as 2, but am not sure. But check soon, they tend to book up quickly.
