I just received the sales add for Big Lots. They have what looks to be a nice toy tool set on sale. Apparently, you can order online and get the sale as well.
I am looking for my son (age 3) for Christmas a tool bench/work bench. Does anyone have the Step2 Real Projects Workshop/Tool Bench? Would you recommend or is there another one you would recommend. I would like to find him a realistic tool belt and accessories. Thanks!!!

I got a flyer in the mail today from Big Lot's and they are advertising the Black & Decker work bench on sale for $25. The sale runs from November 26-November 27.
I second the recommendation for the Black and Decker tool bench. It was money well spent. We bought it for our son's second birthday, he just turned four and he still plays with it on a regular basis. We bought ours for around $50 at Sam's. They carry them a lot at Christmas time.
Lowes has the Step 2 work bench - which is adorable by the way. :) They are running it for $49.98 the day after Thanksgiving. They had a pallet full of them in the Lowe's on McDermott and Alma in Allen, so I imagine that most of the stores will stock them. Have fun building!
I recently saw a tool bench set that is a Craftsman set like you would find at Sears. I saw it at a silent auction. I bet Sears has it in their stores. It looked so much like what my dad use to have. If my son were small enough I would try to find that one.
Hi M..
For the tool belt/accessories, look at Home Depot or Lowe's. Each year around this time, they come out with a set that is adorable. My boys (age 3 and age 6) love it!!! Real belt, suspenders, real tools, etc.

We have the Black and Decker one. My son got it as a toddler a couple years ago from Santa. It was about $50 I think? It's held up well and he still plays with it (he's about to be 5). There are also tons of cute accessories at Toys R Us that you can get. If you're looking to not spend a lot, there is a Home Depot tool box with lots of stuff in it for only $10. The Black and Decker and Home Depot accessories are very real looking. I get my husband's real ones and my son's toy ones confused some times!
I also agree with the other posters regarding the Black & Decker work bench. That was my son's (now 2 1/2) Santa present last year. He loves it!!! It's got great tools that have sounds and lights and he still plays with it to this day. Definately worth the $50 that I spent on it.
My son just got the Handy Manny Work Bench for his birthday and LOVES IT! It has blue prints for all the projects. When you put the blue print card in it will tell you how to build the project. It teaches directions really well and focuses on the motor skills in a big way!
My boys have these Bosch brand toys that a friend got at target! They love them and they look real and do so many neat things. My now six year old got them when he was about 2 and today they are still going strong (still at Target - bought some for a friend last year) and my little one, now 2 year old, LOVES them. I think I have only changed batteries in them once in four years. They are sold a-la-carte, not as a set. They could make a great addition to the tool bench.
What a fun gift!
This is the one I got my boys last year

They love it and still use it. I have a 4 and 3 year old and they got it from Santa last year. It's held up very well - and they love to stand and jump on it!!
