My DS lost his first tooth last night! He was ultra ecstatic by it!

First thing he asked was if the tooth fairy would be coming tonight. He had just seen an episode of Wow Wow Wubbzy where Daisy lost her tooth and Wubbzy told her about the Tooth Fairy.

Just curious what have you put under your child’s pillow from the TF? Can you give me some ideas? Do people still just give some money?

We had read a book about the tooth fairy bringing a silver coin. She gets a silver dollar to save and $1 dollar bill to spend. As she grew older the dollar about raised, now she is 9 it is $10. She still gets a silver dollar which are saved and valued. Once she found my stash of silver dollars they were my grandfathers said wow, someone lost a lot of teeth.

I give $ for it. I have her put her tooth in an envelope and the tooth fairy takes the envelope and magically replaces the tooth with money without opening the envelope. To do this, we press the tooth into a new envelope and put the money in. She thought this was the coolest thing when she still believed. Magic is only so magical for a couple of years. Enjoy!

We started putting $1 under the pillow, but we didn't have any during the last tooth, so we ended up putting a $5 bill under the pillow. Needless to say, it went over very well. We also put a note with the first tooth saying congratulations and that she can't wait to come back again because the teeth were so great and she encouraged the toothbrushing and limited candy.

We just give money. My oldest (the only child loosing teeth) knows that there is no tooth fairy, but we still give him money for his teeth. He also likes that he can see his lost teeth if he wants (I have kept them).

God bless!

i have always given my daughter money for her teeth. i then take the teeth, put them in a plastic snack size zip bag and write which tooth, and what day it was lost, and put that bag in a larger bag where all her teeth are not necessarily for her, but for mommy, when college years come lol

o and when she lost her first tooth my sil gave me 50.00!!!! to give to her, i'm like woah!!! had to explain the more teeth you lose the less value they have, course i'll probably give her a pretty penny for her last one

I gave 10 quarters for each tooth (it's only $2.50 but it seems like a lot of treasure to have so many coins) and 100 quarters and a glittery note from the Tooth Fairy for the last baby tooth.

money.. Our daughter loved quarters so we always left quarters..

FYI, I saved all of her teeth in a medicine bottle. she was thrilled when I showed them to her in her teens. some people think it is strange or gross, but in our family we always saved them.. they are so tiny..

6yrsapart~ Bwahahahahahaha! Priceless..

We gave $5 for the first tooth. Then the second was pulled by the dentist so she got $5 for "being brave." The third tooth was a normal tooth loss so we gave $1 and boy, did she have a fit! We've given dollar coins every time after that and she thinks those are neat. Depending on your child, giving more for the the first tooth can be dangerous!

I use "golden dollars" (used to be sacajawea dollars). I get them at the bank. The tellers always get a smile as I ask for "toothfairy money". We go through them to pick out the shiniest ones.

On a couple occasions (weekends) I was out of toothfairy money, so used Euros (bicolor 2euros), and Yen. that I had stashed in the house.

((I originally wanted to do actual gold coins... and then realized that the price of gold per ounce had multiplied x14 since I'd last looked it up. Ouch. Dollars it is!))

Yes, I use golden coins too... which I have a stash of already.
Or I use Euros... which we also have... from our trip there.
Or... I have given my daughter a silver dollar from my own coin collection.
Or a "two" dollar bill.

You might also sprinkle a bit of 'glitter' around... to make like the Fairy left it behind in her trip to your son's pillow. That is what I do too.

all the best,
Susan

Since my daughter started losing her teeth pretty young, she was barely five years old, she didn't yet know much about money. So, the tooth fairy brought her prizes instead!
She got a stuffed cat, a Webkinz dog, and a Spongebob Sorry game, to name a few.
She's got a wiggly one now, but she's finally into money so I think for the next one I'm going to have her leave her tooth in a glass of water. The tooth fairy will leave her some dollar coins in there, and leave behind some glitter in the water!

For our daughter, we put books beside her pillow (she's a big bookworm) and for our son we got him hot wheels cars. We are sure to buy ahead and keep a few extra on hand.

I had read on here a few years ago that someone put a gold dollar coin, a quarter, a dime, a nickel and a penny. With my DD first tooth we also wrote a letter from the tooth fairy saying that she was glad to meet her and to keep brushing and put a $2 bill for the first tooth. She's happy with that but her 1st grade teacher told about how the tooth fairy would take the tooth from the bowl of water and leave the money and glitter in the water. We had to have the discussion about the tooth fairy does it different at everyones house because she might be in a hurry some nights and we have the tooth fairy pillow that Nana gave us. We did leave the tooth in a bowl but without the water one time but then I didn't have any glitter, just sequins. She was ok with that, that one time. We still use the pillow and give her the $1.41 in coins. I don't know how much longer she'll believe, she's 8, but little brother will start losing soon so we have a while to go. Good luck!

I put a $2 bill under the pillow and sprinkle Fairy dust on the pillow (from dollar tree or so fair fine glitter). My daughter is 7 1/2 and just lost her 3rd.

She loves the glitter and gets excited about that lol! Though she thinks her tooth fairy is a guy because of the the Rock lol..

On her fist tooth i gave her an Angel bracelet with it
