we just got a three or five dollar coupon in the mail. I think they sing happy birthday to you and you get a balloon.
Hello Moms-
Just wondering has anyone done the Toys R Us Birhtday Club and gone in for the in store celebration? Is it worth going especially with a 1 year old? What do they do?
Thanks for responding!

Hello,
I'm not sure how much a 1 year old will get out of it.
But, this is what they've done when I've taken my kids in:
You get a special cart with a horn on it, that your child can honk as you're shopping.
They also give the child a mylar birthday balloon. Sometimes you also get a paper crown.
They make an announcement on the loudspeaker that they have a birthday
child in the store and for everyone to wish them a "Happy Birthday" if they see them.
Then there is the $3 gift card that comes in the mail. We've usually used the card to
purchase an ice cream and a piece of candy, instead of putting it towards a toy. (I don't know if all toys R us have icecream).
I think a 3-8 year old would really enjoy this birthday treatment the most.
A 1 year old won't really know what is going on. But, your call!
Have fun!

We are members but don't usually go in for the whole celebration thing. We did, once, when the boys were 2. They also have a special cart you can ride in that says it's your birthday. My boys didn't care much about it other than that they got to leave with a balloon.
I don't think they have changed it much but 3 years ago when my kids wanted to go, they gave each of them a "crown" (paper) and a balloon. Then they announced over the loudspeaker that there is a birthday boy/girl in the store and if you see them make sure to wish them Happy Birthday. Then the kids are supposed to go shopping. It wasn't really a party. But every year we get $3 gift cards/coupons in the mail to use towards anything. My kids are able to use them towards a game or other item they want to buy themselves.
Your child gets a crown and a balloon and you can use the coupon they sent you. I took my son when he was one. He liked the balloon!
Yes. I just did the Toys R US Birthday Club with my one year old son. They gave him a paper crown, a balloon and announced that he was having a birthday and everyone in the store is supposed to wish him a happy birthday. My son is very social so he loved having people come up to him. I think he enjoyed the balloon over anything else though. If anything, I would go in for the $5.00 off coupon they give to you in the mail. Not bad if you have time to go
yes, he will just get a balloon and crown and they say happy birthday over the speaker--he may be too young to know whats going on but he may like the balloon--
K.,
Sorry don't have any info on Toys r Us...but I do have info on a Jigglejam Birthday! I am a local mom who has a fun interactive music show. I have been working with families for almost 20 yrs. I also have on going classes near by. Please check out my web site if you think you may be interested in this kind of activity. www.jigglejamproductions.com
