First I would check with her doctor to be sure there aren't any digestive issues to check out. Beyond that, maybe a small amount of prunes in her diet would help (check with the dr first on that too).
My daughter is 13 months and has been transitioned to whole milk. She loves it, but seems to have very hard stools, which are very frequent. She has bowel movement at least 4-5 times/day. Can't believe I am saying this, but it almost looks like deer droppings. She eats alot of fruits and veggies, and I have given her juice which seems to help a little. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions????

make sure she is only drinking 16 to 20 oz of milk in a day. Also increase her whole grains and fruits/veggies. That should solve the problems. Juice is not recommended at all until they are closer to 2 yrs old.
it could be the transitioning but constipation can be a sign of intolerance. you may want to look into that and the other signs and symptoms
I agree with Diane. Make sure she's not drinking too much milk. If you can get her to drink some water during the day that's a great habit to start and it should help her stools. Too much milk can make them too full for other foods, and drinking milk throughout the day is bad for their teeth. Juice is the same. We had a hard time getting our son to drink plain water, and I wish I'd started it sooner- even just a few ounces a day. I think he was over 3 before he'd drink it willingly, and then it was only if it was his only choice. Hope this helps.
How much milk does she drink each day? You need to limit it to 16 to 20 ounces. One of my older girls loved milk and I think she would have drunk a gallon a day if allowed. But she also had a lot of constipation. Once we cut the milk down, no problems. And yes juice can help in rough patches though the recommendation is no more than one glass a day due to the sugar. My little one also has a problem if she drinks too much milk. Sometimes, I water it down just a bit to make sure she does get liquids. She sometimes insists she has to have milk. BTW, I was told there is no harm in giving a child 2% before the 2nd birthday if she is able to get her fat and protein somewhere else. I can't always buy 2 different types of milk for my family.
