a pack n play is larger than the allowed carry on size, so you're not gonna be able to bring it on the plane. your options are gonna be to gate check it or baggage check it. good luck!
We are going to be flying this Friday and I have to bring my pack and play with us. We are going to visit and stay with family and no one has one that we can use. Is it better to check the thing or bring it on the plane with us? Has anyone ever had to travel with one? We are flying on Southwest, so checking this as a baggage will not be a problem and there's not charge.
Thank you to everyone who responded. We went ahead and checked the pack and play when we checked our luggage in and everything was fine, no damage or anything.

Hello H.,
If you're planning to visit your family once more in the next year or two, it might be cheaper to buy the pack n play there and leave it there for your next visit. you'll recover the cost by your second trip ($15 for luggage each way that would be $60 in two visits). just a thought.

I'm guessing you're staying with family and not at a hotel? If so, you'll have to check it. If you're staying at a hotel, call and ask to have a crib in your room. We've done this twice, and it worked out great b/c it was one less big thing to worry about carrying and checking. There's usually a small fee, but it's not much and definitely worth it!
We checked ours. We wrapped it inside a trash bag with duct tape. My husband even made a handle with duct tape so we could carry it. We had it in just the bag it came in for one flight, but the zipper broke. This kept it a bit "cleaner" in my opinion too. If you do that, just make sure you bring another bag in your suitcase for the flight home as well.
I couldn't figure out how to travel with ours so I just bought a $40 small one at Walmart when we got there. Figured it was worth the money to avoid dragging it to & from the airport :)
