Tray for Putting Books on While Going to the Potty?

Woo-hoo! My 21 month old dd went on the potty tonight (for the first time)! We have been potty-learning at a relaxed pace for a bit of time now, using EC principles. :) My dd likes to look at a certain book while on the potty, but it is too cumbersome...is there a type of specific tray or stool or something to put in front of a toddler while they sit on their "throne"? I am not planning to have her camp out there (as I did with my son), I just want her to be able to relax while checking out her favorite book. Any suggestions would be very helpful, thanks!!

What can I do next?

Hey Suzy!
I have an idea I saw on Nick they suggested a decorated box with your childs name on it and put the things they like to play with inside. The dollar store has decals and stickers and everything you would need for decorations!
Hope your doing well and congratulations and have a good summer!

I'm surprised that no one has marketed exactly what you're looking for -- I would buy one, too! Some sort of breakfast-in-bed tray might work. I've had my son sitting on his potty at our little kids Ikea table, not in the bathroom but in the kitchen, looking at books and such. I'm wondering what the EC principles you mention are. I'll try anything at this point!

Congratulations! These ideas might not work if she is using a kid's potty chair or if your bathroom is small but what about a music stand type thing that holds sheet music or a snack table? My kids have a vanity playset that would work the same way. It has a flip-open lid that, when open, could probably keep a book propped open.

My kids never had to camp out on the potty with traditional training... they just did their deed and moved on, and were both fully trained night/day at 27 months. :0)

anyway, if you are looking for a tray, maybe a lap tray would work... you can get one at Michaels or even target for around $8. Good luck!
