Try removing dairy products such as milk from the toddler's diet. Along with anything made with peanuts. Also peas and wheat.

My son had allergy induced asthma and the only thing that helped him was taking him to a pediatric chiropractor. He was on those steroids and preventatives and it was a MESS. He was three when we finally went because he just couldn't stay healthy and was missing so much school. He's is a completely different kid! He can get sick and it's not the BIG stuff. he CAN just get a stuffy nose.. and he hasn't been on the nebulizer since he started there. He takes fish oil supplements and we have even put our younger son on that.. and it's helped him stay healthier as well.

Many times, just getting the products with toxic ingredients out of your house can help alleviate asthma symptoms immensely. Hi, my name is Tina Jones and I want to share what Melaleuca has done
for me. My daughter, Taylor, has severe-critical, persistent asthma,
eczema and some kidney problems. For the past three years, she has been hospitalized two times for over a week each and been to the ER about 2-4 times per month for breathing treatments.

It has now been two years since we became Melaleuca customers and I
Just wanted you all to know that Taylor is NOT on any medications regularly! She will take Flonase during pollen season as a precaution!
It has been an amazing two years! Taylor is running, playing, riding
horses, swimming and all the wonderful things that 12 year olds do!
Her eczema has NEVER returned and she has had only ONE asthma attack....she was at public school and in May they started doing end of year cleaning. THEY used bleach. We were immediately in the hospital, on oxygen, steroids and IV's! Because of her prior lung damage, she contracted pneumonia.

Normally, it would have taken her months to get back on her feet. Within TWO WEEKS, Taylor was breathing at 100% and was swimming in our pool! NO ONE in the world can ever tell me that these products are not the best thing out there.

Hello sorry to hear about the asthma. Our six year old has had it since age two and is on singulair. He also has bad allergies and takes Zyrtek, if I skip a dose of zyrtek he has an attack that night. I can not decide if that is good that the zyrtek works or bad that he is so dependent on it.

He is much better than in the past. I have had his pulse ox in the 80's several times. Our older one was in the hospital a few times but he has grown out of it he is 8. He does not take anything now but was on singulair for three or four years.

HOpe this helps we also took up carpet and i dust their room daily. THey have covers on the beds and pillows and we change the air filters every two or three months.

It is a lot to take on and can be really scary when you wake up in the middle of the night to wheezing or coughing. I found out a new trigger for it this summer ICEE's or slurpees whatever you call them cause a reactive airway trigger and they start coughing. Sorry to run on but it has been a long eight years.

I've read all of the responses and I agree with Homeopathy and chiropractic procedures. My son was diagnosed at age 7. After removing carpet from the house, changing to non-chemical cleaning products and removing dairy from his diet, he has not had an asthma attack in 7 years. For years, I used alternatives to milk like Rice or Soy. Milk can be a huge irritant to any respiratory condition. If your child drinks cows milk, I would remove it from the diet. If any Doctor voices concern over nutrition, Rice Milk Enriched has the same Vitamin D and nutrients as Cow's milk.

From what I've heard is that homeopathy is just a diluted version of the allopathic drugs.

The best way to help your child is developing his immunity-vitamins, making sure his environment (stuffed animals,blankets,etc) are clean and don't accumulate too much dust,etc. Even regular mild exercise, like a walk to the park,etc. can sometimes help develop their systems. Kids usually outgrow the childhood asthma. My baby had the severe form when he was in the daycare. When he was 11 months old, I started sending him to a babysitter, and he has only had an episode once in the past year.Could be just virus induced at the daycares...
