Hi Mamas,
My third baby is due in a few months, and I'll be finding myself with an almost four year old, a two year old, and a newborn. Holy moly! I need a triple stroller. I'm sure that there are times when I'll just use the double stroller and sling one of the kids, but my older two are such stroller bums that I feel the need to have a triple as well. They never want to walk when we go to the mall, zoo, or anything like that.
I've been looking at the Foundations triple and the Joovy big caboose because that's what they have at Buy Buy Baby and they're not that expensive compared to other triple strollers out there. Has anyone used either of these? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them, or on any other triple strollers.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

Triple strollers are just not worth the money unless you are having triplets. I think you will find that your four your old is going to grow in independence so fast that he won't want to ride a stroller like the babies. Truely I have two three year olds and a 8 month old. I put my double away when the baby came and the big kids jsut have to walk. Plus its better exercise for them and makes it more likely that I will get some downtime. There was whining and trouble getting them to stay with me for the first month and now everyone is totally fine with it. By four your older one really can do without a stroller other than exceptional circumstances when you can do the double and sling or take an umbrella stroller for him when there is a second parent available. Also for things like the zoo I take a wagon. The baby seat can go across half of it and the kids just jump on and off as they tired and if I need to bust my butt somewhere they all fit if they had too even if it wasn't all day comfort.

A friend who had triplets got a used stroller through a mothers of multiples group. You need to be careful about used equipment, obviously, but it worked for her.

I loved the Runabout triple stroller because it is long instead of wide, had airless tires, and I could wheel it around in a pouring rainstorm with the raincover on and my kids stayed dry. It was easy to push, too.

I have TRIPLETS...Get the Valco Tri Mode. IT IS AMAZING!!! Now, your 4 year old may not want to be in one for much longer so, let that sit in your mind before you purchase a triple. They are expensive. We have the Valco and a triplet jogger. We also owned a baby trend triple and just sold it. Best of luck!

UppaBaby Vista. It can be used as a single, double, or triple stroller. Changing the configurations literally takes seconds. You can have the newborn attached in the car seat or the stroller seat, 2 year old in the rumble seat, and 4 year old on the piggy board. Easy to maneuver. We love ours!

I have the Joovy Big Caboose and it is FANTASTIC!!! I love this stroller. I can take 4 kids with it...2 can sit in it and 2 can stand on the platform (back-to-back.) The Joovy fits in the trunk of my minivan...only 1 way and it took a friend showing me the exact way it fit (thanks Linda!!) I can't fit much else back there, but it's so worth it to have a stroller that can fit so many kids. I found one on Craigslist that was used, but it was in perect condition and pretty cheap. Your 4 year old should probably start walking sooner rather than later, but then your 2 year old can stand on the platform and you can use one of the seats for your diaper bag, shopping bags, etc. It is the best tripple stroller I've ever used!

I agree with the posters that said you might want to start encouraging your older one to walk. I had my second baby (a boy) when my daughter was 3 yrs 4 mos. By the time my son outgrew the Bjorn, my daughter was almost 4 yrs old and had no problem walking around with me. Plus, she loved pushing the stroller and felt like a big girl doing so. Try that before investing in a triple stroller. Congratulations on your expanding family!

I'll be in your same situation next spring, although my soon-to-be middle son will be 2-1/2. I've seen side-by-side double strollers with a seat attachment that juts out for the infant. I think it's only a seat, though, so the baby has to be able to sit up and I don't think there's support if the baby sleeps.

We live in the city and do a lot of walking, whether it's in the neighborhood or downtown, so we still need a stroller for my older son. I think there are a lot of older kids/toddlers in the city in strollers for that same reason. When my husband and I are together, we each take a kid in a single stroller...much easier for maneuvering crowds and not taking up the whole sidewalk. I imagine once #3 comes along we'll go out with the double and a single once the baby's too big for the bjorn. When I'm by myself and out with all 3 (yikes!), I'll use the sit 'n stand with the baby in the seat and the two older boys on the bench.

get a double with a seat for the older one. your older one is going to be what almost five next summer? not going to want to be in a stroller and also on their way to kindergarten. have you seen a triple stroller? its a PITA to maneuver you can in the beginning use a double while you use a baby carrier on your infant or make the 4 year old walk. gotta learn sometime.
