Call your local police dept and ask if they have a car seat specialist or if they know of a neighboring community that has one. Let them install it or suggest a diferent brand for your car. It won't cost anything.
I bought a britax roundabout 55 but was unable to install it in the middle seat of my land rover LR2. The slant of the back seat made the roundabout slope toward the back seat and was not at a proper angle for the baby. We tried using noodles to get the angle correct, but it still wasn't enough. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Are there any convertible seats that have adjustable bottoms to account for the slope of the seat?

We had to use a towel, noodle, and some cupboard lining to get ours to fit right. We have a Yucon with leather seats, so ours sat at a funny angle AND slipped. Blegh. We took it to a Saferiders seat inspection thing, and they fixed it for us. :)
Yup, just like some of the other posters have already said, go to any fire station & they will install it in your car for you free of charge. If even they can't get it in, I'm sure you'll be able to return it wherever it came from to get something compatible.
Not all car seats are compatible with all cars. We learned that the hard way with the Graco Nautilus. Who knew our Odyssey minivan had freaky odd seats that weren't compatible? You'd think they'd design seats to fit a minivan, but that wasn't the case, so know you're not alone in this frustration. The good news is that you should be able to return that seat. We did with ours.
There's a website out there that lists compatibility of car seats, although I'm drawing a blank on the name. Hopefully someone here will post a link.
lol I was about to say go to your fire station, but it looks like others have already said that.
I actually talked with a police officer on FB and he told me which fire stations offer the help, so maybe calling in a head will help you out.
You can also try your health department for a car seat tech.
when you attach the rear car seat anchor to the back of your front seat did that help. if you would like to try other models go to babies r us and they will let you try their floor models in yourcar.
In addition to what RED said, you could also go to your nearest fire station; they are trained to properly install car seats :)
