Hello,
I found this place that sells really pretty stars, and arent that excpensive.
Melrose Vintage on 7th ave just a little north of Indian School on the left hand side. They have really nice baby things there too.
Good Luck
Do any of you parents know, or have seen Stars and Clouds that I can tac on the ceiling in my baby's room? I've got my son's room in Creamy Chocolate and Merry Go Round blue and I'm looking for some Stars and Clouds for decor. Any tips on where I can find these?
I was just researching Babie's R US, and did some looking around at Target and WalMart this past weekend, but with no luck.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! :-)
Allison: Thank you. I appreciate the offer, but I had a very bad experience selling privately to someone who didn't pay me, so that pretty much discouraged me from ever buying or selling to a private party. I sold her a whole box of toddler clothes for just a small amount of money, and she really played me for a fool. And I was one too cause I sent her the clothes without receiving the money first. Never again. You might cosider selling your stars at Once Upon A Child in Litchfield. They are a second hand store that buys very good used items/brand new items and sells them at a cheaper price for those parents who cannot afford much.
Thank you to everyone who had such great ideas! :-) I appreciate all your answers!

I found great glow in the dark stars at The Discovery Store. You can stick them on the ceiling with double sticky tape. My boys loved them. No advice for the clouds, sorry.
I have those puffy stars too, BRU used to sell them. Our nursery has a moon and stars and cloud theme. I have faux clouds painted on the walls. If you mix dry wall powder into your paint it will thicken it so it will not run and will have texture. Use a sponge to apply it, and see if you can find a book on faux painting for the technique. The glow in the dark stars are also great. But you can definitely make your own stuff to hang. Good luck!
Ikea!!! They have super cute stars and clouds for a baby's room! And it's Ikea so it's not super expensive!! Good luck, it sounds adorable!
It sounds like a pretty simple craft project to me. You could go to Michaels and get some cool paper to cut them out of. You could even cut out two the same size, glue the edges, and stuff them with paper, tissue, or whatever to make them 3D, punch a whole on the top, thread some string or yarn through it and hang them from the ceiling. Sounds like fun to me :)
Hi - you could look for pretty whimsical pictures of them in your baby's books and then paint or color them onto white cardboard, make them double-sided, and then attach them to the ceiling by clear fishing line or even string and cover with an opposite cloud or star attached to the ceiling with a strong double adhesive tape or one recommended at the paint store or Michaels/craft store - so you have clouds and stars and Maybe a half moon? It would be more fun and fullfilling to do it yourself and then you can tell people you really Did do it yourself for probably for ALot less :)Sounds fun!! And your Four yr old Can be part of the Process - How Great it That!! :)Good Luck & have fun - S. :)
you should totally make your own. They would be unique and beautiful. I would suggest using cardboard or flat styrofoam (sp) Cut them out and find some really cool contact paper to stick right onto them and then cut the edges out. I have found really neat contact paper in Target. They sell it in the kitchen isle because its used to line the insides of cabinets. They might even have some at hobby lobby. What a fun project and it will be something you will be proud to look at.
Good Luck
I think the baby shower decorations from Carter's (for a baby boy) has clouds and starts in them. I got them at Party City. You might be able to find them elsewhere too. Good luck and congrats on the baby!
Check out some of these, just copy and paste them to bring them up. If they don't work email me and I will send them to you directly:

You could try checking out www.companykids.com or www.potterybarnkids.com They have really cute kids room & bathroom things. I've gotten a few things from them, and sometimes just look at their items for decorating ideas. You could get a stencil for the stars and stencil it on. They may have glow in the dark paint? We have the glow in the dark stick on ones.
I would try at the Arizona Science Center gift shop. They usually have the stars. Not sure if this is what you're looking for but worth a try. I would just paint the clouds with some cheese cloth. Mix the paint with some glaze and swirl it on your base paint.
You might want to try Learning Express at Desert Ridge http://www.phoenix.learningexpress-toys.com/ They have some really neat stuff there. When I wanted Glow in the dark stars for my daughters Ceiling, that is where I had to go to get them. If you put them on both the walls and the ceilings, it gives a really neat 3-D effect. (I also have glow in the dark planets hanging down from the ceiling in her room too)
My daughter got some glow-in-the-dark stars from the dollar store. If this is for your 4-year-old, he would love them. You could tack up some quilt batting for the clouds (from JoAnn's or Michaels, etc.). Have fun!
Here is a do it yourself tip.
Get foam board and paint it the color you want, make your own clouds and stars. Hang them with fishing wire about and inch down from the ceiling. This gives a three d look and is inexpensive, and you can tell everyone you did it yourself. :)
You can also go to a paint store and look up wall paper patterns.
Another source is google wall murals, or wallies, they have pre-printed patterns that peel and stick.
Hope these ideas help you, and God bless you and your new baby.

Try the Discovery Store if you can find one - or go to your local planetarium's gift shop. I did the ceiling with glow in the dark stars (creating my own representations of constellations) in my youngest son's room about 10 years ago. When he grew into his older brothers' room after they moved out I turned his old room into my office/guest room. It's fun to look up and see them in the dark.
Ikea has had somethings in the past, maybe check the website or stop by the kids section.
I have stuffed stars. They are three different colors blue, white, and yellow that have never been used if you interested. I will sell them to you. Let me know if you are interested. -A.
