seems silly, but I have read in a couple of places that you shouldn't use tampons while trying to get pregnant. Makes no sense to me really, but thought I would double check since we getting ready to start trying.

What can I do next?

Never heard of that. Is that like "you can't get pregnant if you keep O. foot on the floor"? LOL Seriously, good luck and have fun trying!

Congrats on a planned pregnancy. I don't really have any advise about getting pregnant. I just wanted to give you a little heads up about getting off the pill. I noticed the first couple of months my periods were very heavy and I had major cramping in addition to adult acne that I never had as a teenager. It leveled out after a few months. I remember telling hubby if it didn't get better I was going back on the pill.

Wow, never heard that before. I am glad it doesn't appear to be true.

A good resource for that type of question is babycenter.com. I also like kellymom.com, but don't know if there is anything on there about trying to conceive, Ive never looked. I would just stick with those and whatever your doctor says for the most accurate info. Good luck babymaking!

I do not think that tampon use matters at all when you are trying to get pregnant. I used a tampons when I tried for my daughter and still when I became pregnant with my son. My best suggestion is to always ask doctor what you should and shouldn't do when trying to get pregnant. Also, don't forget that plenty of people get pregnant without trying for just going about their normal day and normal activities. I would also suggest not trying to stress yourself out about trying to get pregnant. Stress can hurt your body. Good luck with everything =)

I haven't heard about the tampon use, but would recommend giving your body at least 2 months of being off BC before starting to try. That'll give your body time to work out the "chemicals" from BC, and will also allow you to start tracking your cycle, so you know if you're 26 days, 28, 30, 32, etc. I did this with my first and learned that I have a long cycle, thus when the doctor set my due date as X, I really knew it was Y because I would've conceived like 5 days later. Helpful at the end when the doc says your due date is say April 7th, but your body really thinks it is like April 12...

I have a one year old and am pregnant again, both on the first try and I have never not used tampons for a period. I can't stand pads! I haven't heard that before. Just follow the directions and don't leave them in too long.

I think that 'myth' stems from the fact that some tampons leave a 'residue' that can form a plug blocking the cervical opening, thus making it even more difficult to conceive. Honestly and truly, I think it depends on your own personal preference. Best of luck!

With all the other responses, I'm sure you've gotten your answer by now.

I just wanted to point you to this website: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ I found it very helpful when my husband and I were trying to get pregnant. It teaches you how your cycle works, how to track it and how to figure out when the best time of the month to "try" is for you. Good luck!

LOL I'm sorry but I almost spurted pop onto my computer screen! Yes, you can use tampons! There are so many old wives tales out there that some actually believe they're true. Your best bet is to talk to your doctor about what to do and what not to do.
