Hi G.,
My friend and I started a weight loss group. We have about 8 ladies in our group that all want to lose weight. We also have a weight loss challenge. Whoever loses the most % of weight loss wins the $25/person it costs to join. Good motivation, huh?
I have lost 20lbs over the last 6-9 months. The way I did it is I wrote everything that I ate down in a journal. I kept track of my calories this way. I had between 1300-1400 calories everyday. I also kept track of my protien. (eggs, string cheese, yogurt, fish, chicken, stuff like that) You want to get around 100 grams of protein everyday. And don't forget your 8 glasses of water. I also did 20 min of walking (and then running when I got better at it)every other day. On my off days I'd do push-ups, situps, and some kicks I learned on tie-bo. If you stick to something like this you will lose the weight, gain muscle (with the push-ups, situps, etc), and keep it off. You have to remember that the more muscle mass you have the more calories you can eat and keep the weight off. That is my favorite part!! lol Also at about.com they have a great site about nutrition and weight loss there. Anyway, hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
