Hi, Moms. I'm getting ready to have my 2nd baby in April and would like to have get a tubal. Any experiences you can share with me would be beneficial. I am specifically curious about the healing time with a repeat C-section and any hormonal effects, etc. after the surgery.

Thanks.

What can I do next?

Hi A.,

I had a 3peat c-section with a tubal added in. I didn't experience anything different than with my 1st and 2nd c-sections. No extra pain, no difference in periods, no difference in hormones, it was like it never happened. If you are sure you are done than it is the way to go!

Good Luck!
J.

I just had a tubal with my 4th c-section and did not notice any difference at all. I left the hospital after 36 hours and was running around like nothing happened after a week. I actually had the c-section/tubal on a Monday morning and went to my 20th high school reunion on the Friday of that week. I had no additional healing time, it was just like the others.

I had two c's. I felt no difference when my tubal was done at the same time. No hormone issues, like it never happened.

Hi there-

Congrats on your impending arrival. I had a c-section and tubal after my last pregnancy. After having a c-section with the first and terrible pregnancies I was dead set on a tubal. First, you need to make sure that you aren't delivering at a Catholic hospital as they won't do it. I will say, though, that the recovery was pretty much the same as a c-section. There was a little more pain in a different area where the tubal took place but it didn't last very long. Hormones? No more than normal. It was very easy and wasn't really a factor in the whole ordeal.

Hope this helps. Good luck and feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
