Hi B.,

We take our 11-month-old to see Dr. Hull at Tucson Central Pediatrics. We've only seen her a couple of times, but we really like her. Previously, we saw Dr. Young, a resident, at the UMC pediatrics clinic. He was awesome, but we decided to switch because we wanted our baby to see the same doctor throughout his childhood, and residents eventually leave. We also didn't like the parking at the hospital or taking our child TO a hospital for his well-baby checkups. The pediatricians at UMC really know their stuff, though, so if you have various specialist needs, you can't go wrong there. I believe there's a pediatric specialty clinic on Alvernon, too, but I haven't been there.

My husband and I go to family practice (and my OB/GYN) at University Physicians Healthcare on Alvernon. We don't usually see the same person, though, just whoever is available, except for my OB/GYN. I really like Dr. Johnson. I wanted her to be my OB, but she was pregnant and would have been on leave during the birth. I liked my OB, but she was very young and inexperienced, so in retrospect, I'd have gone with someone else. I've liked every gynecologist I've seen there, though. They have residents as well, so I've had a hard time seeing the same person for longer than a few years. I guess I might be telling you where not to go! But really, I like the clinic a lot. HTH.

Hi,

I only have three names for you:
Pediatrician - Dr. Mary Cochran & Jeff Couchman (Mesquite Pediatrics) are wonderful.

Family Practice - Dr. Donald Lieberman (Camp Lowell) is the best doc my husband and I have EVER had.

Dentist - Dr. Harrell (Campbell & Glen area) is awesome. My whole family has gone to him since I was a little girl and I am 31 now.

Hope you find the docs that best fit your family and welcome to Tucson.

BEST pediatricians are at CopperState OBGYN. Dr. Jennifer Hutchison is my favorite, and I know at least a dozen women who agree. Her husband, the other Dr. Hutchison is a specialist with problems getting pregnant. I've heard great things about him as well.

If you live on the Northwest side of town, Dr Henry Bianchi with Casa Adobes Physicians is a wonderful Pediatrician. His Nurse Practitioner Beth ( sorry, I don't think I've ever known her last name) is great too for when the girls get older. Dr Walter Brewer has been my OB/GYN for my last three children. He's located more central.

My OB/GYN is Dr. Decker and he's freaking awesome. He's very friendly and very helpful. My peditrician is Dr. Nomaan and I really like him also. There are several Dr.s in his office and I like everyone that my son has seen.

My girls go to Dr. Amy Montgomery at Tanque Verde Pediatricians. There are 5 docs there and at some point, we've managed to see all the docs there. You choose one, but if you come in unexpected, you might need to see one of the others. Like them all pretty well.

Also, they share(d?) call with Dr. Susan Dalby. Had to go see her on a Saturday morning for an ear infection. If I wasn't at Tanque Verde, I'd take my kids to see her. Really liked her, too.

The only other doc type on your list I can help with is OB/GYN. I use Dr. Vidky Sherman. I love her. I've been seeing her for 14 or 15 years. Love her. She's pretty busy - she has a large practice and she's the only doc. But her Nurse Practitioner is pretty great, too.

Both of those are more on the east side of town, but you didn't mention an area, so there you are. Good luck!

Here are my reccommends.

OB/GYN:
http://www.obgyn.arizona.edu/index.html
I recommend Dr. Heather Gilbert. She's a chief resident at UMC's OB/GYN clinic. She was my doctor for my delivery just 2 months ago. She's been the best. She's very caring and has always been willing to answer all my questions and takes the time to make sure I'm ok. I belive her attending is Dr. Meyer but she's so good (and I had so few complications) that I never actually met him.

Pediatricians:
Arizona Elks Clinic for Children and Young Adults
http://www.peds.arizona.edu/

We've seen both Drs. Tracey Kurtzmann and Kimberly Gerhart. They are Attendings. Both are excellent and very caring. The clinic is in University Medical Center. They have both a sick and well child waiting rooms. You see 2 doctors. The first is a Resident and then the Attending. They also have Pediatric Specialists in Gastroenterology and Endocrinology in clinic you can see as well.

Dentist:

I've seen Dr. McGonigle for about 5 years now. She's an excellent dentist. Very gentle. Always up on the latest technology. Her team of people, from the receptionist to the dental hygenists and assistents are always very friendly and caring.

Family Practice:
Dr. Susan Courtney. Courtney Medical Group

Dr. Courtney has been our doctor for many years. She's very thorough and very kind.
