Hi Mamas, I'm in need of some unique bridal shower gift ideas! I was thinking of doing a basket of something but I'm not sure of what exactly. I will be using things from their registeries but I just don't want to do the same old things that everyone else does. For my wedding, I received a gift from someone that I thought was really different and cool (they got me placemats, napkins, and napkin holders for all holidays for my table) and I want to something as different and cool but not the same thing. Any ideas would be great!!! Thanks in advance!

Ok, first apologies because I didn't read all the other replies, so this may be duplicated. I found someone on Etsy.com who makes ceramic holiday items with names carved in them. Example, a ceramic pumpkin with the couples names carved where the mouth would be.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/33168619/personalized-ceramic.... She has something for all the major holidays and I always get asked "how did you think of that? Where did you get it?" at showers.

I received (and LOVED) everything to decorate a christmas tree-lights, ornaments, tree skirt, star, tree stand, etc. Saved us a ton of money and we thought fondly of the family that bought it each holiday season.

One of my bridesmaids got me a picnic basket, filled it with tons of goodies and a gift card for a local deli & Ravinia lawn seats. Loved that!

Whatever you decide-have fun with it and it'll show. :)

The most recent bridal shower I attended was for a couple in our church. I knew that they had just recently bought their home and were trying to get it ready to move into after the wedding. I put together what I called a Marriage Maintenance Bucket. I bought a bucket that could be used to hold cleaning supplies or mop water. I filled it with assorted cleaning supplies. The twist is I attached marriage tips that relate to the supplies. Here is the list of tips I came up with:
Magic Eraser –Everyone makes mistakes. Be sure to let them disappear without a trace.
Furniture Polish – Just like furniture needs a little extra care to keep it shining and new, so your relationship does too.
Glass Cleaner – Say what you mean and mean what you say to keep your communication crystal clear.
All Purpose Cleaner – Together you can accomplish all you set out to do.
Fabric/Air Freshener – Your best defense against a stale relationship? Fun!
Toilet Bowl Cleaner – Brighten each day with a smile and a kiss.
Dish Soap – A small amount of listening will wash away the toughest misunderstandings.
Package of Wipes – Many things in life are unexpected, be ready with an adventurous attitude.

I'm sure you could come up with many more. Hope this helps get the ideas flowing. :)

When my husband and I got married someone gave us a "honeymoon basket" we loved it! It included things like sparkling grape juice, two goblets, candles, bath fizzies, romantic music CD, a bunch of our favorite snacks, restaurant gift cards etc...

Technically this is more of a wedding gift than a bridal shower gift, but I hope it helps you out.

A close friend from work just married on yesterday, the gift we gave was an etched glass replica of their wedding invitation. I felt it was a very unique gift, that they were sure to keep for a lifteime and I was sure it would not be a duplicated gift.

Hi! It appears you've been given some fun ideas already! I just thought I'd let you know too that right now the Trifle Bowl from Pampered Chef is on sale for everyone at $29 -- 25% off. You could fill it with a billion different ideas (standard cooking items or candles or flowers or candy or whatever!) and it's still something beautiful for a gift. (I may be a bit biased too, but I really do just like to help!) If you need one, let me know.

You could make a scrapbook of the bride for the groom and leave pages for them to add their wedding.
Make a collage of photos in a nice picture frame with many sizes.....
Get something for them monogrammed that normally isn't.....or go to Things Remembered and get them something monogrammed.
If you do a basket, do all kinds of skin products, bath products and maybe a personal monogrammed towel.
There's plenty of ideas out there, try typing in Google unique bridal shower gifts and see what pops up!
Good Luck and I'm sure whatever you decide will be great because it will be from the heart.

i know you want to get from their registries, but one thing i have done (especially if i happened to know the person was going to have PLENTY of chances to get all their stuff from their registry anyway- multiple showers, tons of friends/family), was to do a basket of "mom" stuff - bubble bath, foot soak, body wash, etc. it always got comments about how unique it was, and the mother-to-be was always really excited. sometimes it's nice to get stuff for "you" when it's all about the baby.

This got me thinking! years ago I had attended a shower where someone packed up a huge basket of various kitchen staples. I think it was someone on the groom's side of the family..they did the standard sugar, flour etc, but also some of the shelf stable favorites of the groom..his favorite cereals, canned soups, packaged cookies and stuff like that. It was definitely unique.

My mom always got people a picnic basket. Then inside she would put wine (or sparkling grape juice) sausage cheese and crackers. She would usually put in a few of the plastic wine looking glasses.

My inlaws do a pantry shower which is kind of cool. They purchase the things that other people don't normally get for their shower and usually do it with a theme. One theme might be baking. Typically you might get the bride to be a set of pans or cookie sheets; but this would be maybe the measuring spoons, wooden spoons, whisk, ramekins, vanilla, chocolate chips, cake mixes, spatulas, stuff like that. Some of the mundane things that people don't normally think of.
