Just looking for some unique gift ideas for a girl turning 3 years old. It is for my niece. My sister-in-law is always giving the neatest gifts, either personalized and/or just not seen at the average store. Unfortunately, I've waited until the last moment, so I don't have time to ORDER something and wait for it to come in either. I need for this weekend. Any and ALL ideas are welcomed. Thanks so much.

So What Happened?

I want to thank everyone for the awesome ideas. I plan to act-on most of them for different gifts, including for my own daughter. I ended up going with the "I Spy" bag. I LOVE that it is handmade and well-made. I especially LOVE that you can personalize it, by having Lindsey (the owner & designer) add the child's name INSIDE the "I Spy" bag. Every kid from 2 to 12 would really enjoy this gift. It is fun, educational and relaxing. They can do it by themself or with a friend. And, I showed it to a friend of mine, who couldn't stop playing with it...so adults LOVE it too.

Anyone that wants to check these out should go to www.BumbleBeeBabyBoutique.com or www.Etsy.com and type in "I Spy". Lindsey was great to work with and turned around two bags, personalized, for me in one day.

Thanks again to all the input and ideas...as I'll definitely be checking some of the others out too! Many Blessings - L.

I've got the perfect thing! It will just take a little effort to collect all the pieces to make it just right. If your neice loves pink, then this is going to knock her socks off.

Buy the book "Pinkalicious" the author's last name is Kann. The book is about a little girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she turns pink and has to eat veggies to turn back to normal. To put together a fun gift:

Buy a pink bowl (at Target's Dollar Spot right now for 50 cents)
Buy Easy Bake Essential's baking kit (includes spatula and the works) this is also on clearance at Target right now too.
Buy a pink cake mix, pink frosting, sprinkles (at Target's dollar spot for 50 cents) and some cupcake liners.

You can add more if you want, but the book itself will probably cost ya $10.

Hope that helps!!! I am doing this for my niece who is turning 3 and also for the little girl down the street who is turning 3.

These Spy Bags are awesome unique toys. My sister handmakes them and they are great quality, especially for 3 year olds. She can even personalize it for you.

Here is her site so you can explore her feedback... she is quick too, so you could get it by the weekend. Just contact her.

At Grapevine Mills, in the center there is a booth that is selling cute little figurines or piggy banks. They have cartoon characters on them, there was a lot of recent ones and older ones too. They had building blocks that you could spell out the child's name with to put on them. I thought they were really cute, and my daughter loved the Mickey Mouse one.

Hope this helps!!!

Have you tried Learning Express? They are in McKinney at Lake Forest & Eldorado (there are other locations also) They have a lot of toys you don't see at Toysrus and they also have a bunch of stuff that they will personalize. I don't know how long it takes, but when I was in last there was an employee putting names on things so it might be something you can wait around for. Good luck!

If she's into princesses you can find a lot of cute princess stuff. Something like a princess bath towel set isn't as common a gift as a toy or dolls. We saw the bath sets at Target -- right next to the Lightening McQueen towel set -- and my kids gasped and were in awe of them.
