Hi A.,

I live in NW and I have five kids that goes to Raymond Elementary it's located @ 910 Spring RD NW. This was my Elementary school also. It's a pretty good school there is a recreation at the school also, and both your 31/2 and 5 yr old could go to school there. I'm a foster parent to my cousins boys and they seem to love the school especially aftercare. It's right on the green line train station (walking distance 1 block) Petworth. If you need more info feel free to call me @ ###-###-#### I'll be glad to answer your questions. Good luck!

Hi A. me and my son, Reese live in a shelter/Independent Living called Northwest Church Family Network (NCFN) off New York Avenue, NW (near Dunbar H.S.). What is so nice about where I stay is we have our own individual apartment! Bus stop right in front, subway(gallery place-chinatown) 10 minute walk. It is a great program for individuals who are serious about getting back on their feet. I'm not sure what they have available but I do know they have vacancies. It's worth a try. We've been here for almost a year. I will be happy to keep my ears and eyes open for you if you want? I understand believe me I do.

If you want contact info just let me know.

I'm not sure if you are aware but there are several organizations in the DC area called Collaboratives(seven total). These organizations provide services to families. Try calling the Columbia Heights Shaw Collaborative ###-###-#### and explain your situation, they may be able to offer assistance with the housing situation .
God Bless and I will keep your family in my prayers.

Try Hyde in Georgetown or Key off of Macarthur Blvd. There is also Shepard Elementary in Shepard Park. Ross or Stoddard are pretty good as well. I wish you much luck and in your situation. Keep your chin up and know that things will get better.
