Hello moms,

My family is interested in taking a 7 day trip to a beach. We are looking for a nice spot in Mexico-nice beach, friendly, kid orinted, all inclusive deal. If you have any personal experience or any suggestions on the place, hotels, etc., I would greately appreciate it.

Thanks a lot!

When I was a kid we went to Club Med Huatulco down in the south of Mexico (in the state of Oaxaca). It was great, and had activities for the entire family - from adults to teens to younger kids and infants. My sister did their day camp and did archery and trapeze and all sorts of other cool things. I remember my mom commenting too that the all-inclusive deal (everything was included but alcohol, popsicles and some arts-and-crafts materials) was less expensive than spending a week in Maui.

Have you considered Beaches in Jamaica? We took our children and it was a vacation of a lifetime! The resort is just for families, so there is NO nudity and we never witnessed anyone being over served with alcohol. On the flip side, my husband and I were in Playa del Carmen for a wedding and we all stayed at a "family" resort. There were topless women all over the beach and the nightlife was rowdy and loud. Also, the surf in Mexico was a lot stronger than in Jamaica, a small child would be in danger...but, that could've just been the time of year (october) we were visiting.

We went to Playa Del Carmen this past May and my little girl was 14 months. The beaches were amazing and the atmosphere was fun. She had a great time just splashing and walking the beach. There were never more than 40 people on our beach. We rented a house instead of going all inclusive which gave us a lot more freedom, but also was probably pricier in the end. Went through homeaway.com if you are interested. Good luck and have a great trip.

You can't go wrong going anywhere in Mexico. I've been to Cancun, Cozumel, Puerto vallarta, and Ixtpa. I would second worryfree vacations to book your trip with, they're the cheapest around. In my opinion I think the Yukatan (Cancun, cozumel, Playa) has prettier water on the caribbean than the west coast (on the pacific) but anywhere you go you'll have fun. One of my favorite resorts is the Royal Solaris in Cancun and they do have a kids club. Have a great time!

We stayed at Gran Porto Real in Nov 2003, between Cancun & Playa del Carmen. Loved the food, rooms, staff everything! They were great with the kids 14 & 15 at the time. They always had group activities going on.
We booked thru www.worryfreevacations.com

I heard yesterday on Kiss FM an all-inclusive deal to the Bahamas. It was $750/per person including air fare. I think you would stay at the Atlantis which I have heard is very nice. You might look on Kiss' website for more info. Or try www.atlantis.com

I am not too sure where in Mexico you are wanting to go. But I do that that the "Iberostar" brand resorts are wonderful for kids and adults! They have resorts world wide and yes I have taken my family there. Good luck and have a blast, Mexico is a beautiful family vacation!

I just wanted to remind you that everyone needs to get their passports to go to Mexico now. I know they are being processed much quicker now. I had to get a new passport in 2007 when they first started to require them for travel to Mexico and the Carribean and it took over 2 months for mine to finally come.

Puerto Penasco. Aka - Rocky Point. GREAT place and totally tailored to tourists. You'll have to all have passports now, though. Buena suerte!

We went to the Marival All-Inclusive Resort in Nuevo Vallarta about 18 months ago. (We flew in to Puerto Vallarta.) It was fantastic! The resort was very clean; the food was fantastic; and the employees were always ready to have fun with you and were very polite. There is a kids pool with a neat slide that they do not let adults on. They also have a kids club. We didn't take any kids with us, but it sure looked like the kids that were there were having a blast. There are zipline tours and dinner cruises you can book (additional charges) and there are shows every evening at the resort. We went to town (PV) 1 day and there was lots to see, too. Our favorite margarita and guacamole restaurant (Pepe's) is downtown.
Try reading through www.tripadvisor.com. There are lots of pictures and reviews on that site. Good luck and have fun!

You might have to forego the all-inclusive benefit, but VRBO.com has some wonderful condos and houses that can be rented at all ranges in price. They are individually owned so you're going to find differences in decor and price per person. Most of them have calendars to check for availability right away.

I hope you find this helpful.
