There is a Yahoo group Pittsburgh Mamas that has some non-vaccinating members - they may be able to help you. We vaccinate on schedule so sorry, can't help.
Hi Moms, this one is touchy. My husband and I decided before our DD was born not to vaccinate, and we had a difficult time finding a doctor. We were completely honest with them, and pediatric alliance st. clair division agreed to provide care, but ever since then, they harass us when we bring her in. I'm very willing to have an adult conversation about vaccinations, but that's not what happens. She is a very healthy 19 month old who has never had any health scares. I'm pregnant again and due at the end of may, and need to find a doc that will tolerate out decision. I understand and respect that most parents out there disagree with my decisions, but please only respond if you can help me find a doc. We live in scott township, but will travel if necessary. I already take a lot of heat for this, but I truly believe that I'm doing what's right for my family. I really need support, not more arguments or negativity. thanks so much.

A few options . . . you can still go to a regular peed and just get used to it (that's what we ended up doing. Our son was 10wks early so we weren't prepared for finding a peed yet - he wasn't making his own white blood cells, so avoiding vax wasn't even a question and we called around to many peeds, them all saying they work with all parents on the vax issues. I have to sign a waiver each time we skip vax, but its not a big deal. Another peed in the same practice was talking about me outside the door and I just let it go.).
You can find a family practice doctor, who handles visits for all members of the family and is used to more open vax schedules. We found out that our GP could've seen our son from birth, but we didn't know him until last fall.
You can find a chiro who does infant well visits. Our chiro does infant well visits. We all get adjusted, our son (and any more kids) is seen at no charge), they check his ears and anything else. They've helped our son with several issues that came from being a premie. They also do additional thermal scans after any vaccinations, so you can see how the child's body is processing the vax.
Good luck!!!!
Pediatric Alliance is moving towards eliminating all total refusers. They won't take them on at all anymore. You are right, you are going to need to find somewhere else.
I've heard this guy http://www.drjameswiner.com/ will deal with non-vaxers. He's not a MD (I think he's a chiropractor). I've also heard that country doctors are more tolerant of non-vaxers, so maybe you can find someone in a rural area. A GP or FP might also be less strict.
There ARE a lot of pediatricians that will work on a delayed schedule, or with skipping certain vaxes, but most of them can't afford a separate waiting room and exam rooms for non-vaxed kids and aren't willing to put other kids at risk. The Pittsburgh Mamas Yahoo group has a bunch of non-vaxers... you could ask there. Good luck.
We disagree with your decision because it puts other kids at risk. Please read Seth Mnookin's The Panic Virus.
