I had 2 previous c-sections with both my daughters which I felt forced into having. Does anyone know if there is a doctor office around the raleigh area who will see me if I want to try for a VBAC? Is it possible for an office to completely refuse treatment to me if I don't want to go through another c-section? Has anyone had a VBAC after multiple c-sections? If so, please help! I want to have another baby one day and I DO NOT want to go through all that mess again. Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

Hello B., I had a VBAC after 1 c-section. My doctors were supportive, but monitored me more ... a lot more ultrasounds. They are called Centre OB &Gyn. However, if doctors are more supportive if the previous delivery wasn in their own practice or not. You certainly can call and speak to someone, or set an appointment. You know, really the key was in hiring a doula too. She was really awesome and so supportive. I think that she was the biggest reason form my succesful VBAC. Completely worth the extra money.

Good luck B.! I know exactly how you feel.

Check with UNC Family Practice and Triangle OB. Good luck! It is unfortunate that so many practices make women feel like VBACs are unsafe. I hope you are able to have a beautiful birth with your third baby!

First of all I am sorry you feel that you were forced into a C-section. Doctors do often reccommend them more for convenience than medical neccessity. You should watch the documentary the business of being born. Also taking a Bradley childbirth class can help you to cope with a vaginal delivery. I had a natural waterbirth with my son and it was the most empowering experience of my life. I am sorry I don't know of a specific doctor but there are some in the area. Good luck you can do it and don't let the doctors tell you that it is not an option. There is lots of research now saying that VBAC's are safe as long as you have the right type of incision.

Harris and Smith. They have an office in Durham and Chapel Hill. It's a little far from Raleigh but well worth it and a great experince.

You can certainly have a vaginal birth after cesearan. There are OBGYNs who are more encouraging than others, so I would ask them at your initial interview. You can learn more at http://www.vbac.com/, or contact the midwives at the Chapel Hill Birthing Center or UNC Midwives.
