Hi Moms.. I'm praying that someone out there has a solution...
My beautiful 14 month old daughter is the most difficult, whiny, non-sleeping child I have ever seen! She of course has her cute, sily adorable moments but for the most part its crying alllll day long! As her cry isn't just a usual cry, its a deep almost growling/screaming cry! Ugh, i just feel like I'm at wits end, i need help..
Yes, I've talked to the Pediatrician and she just says that she appears healthy and basically she doesn't know either...just a run around..
She wakes all hours of the night, some nights worse than others (my friend just gave me some valerian super calm for kids, and so far helping a little with sleep)..
And also when she wakes up in the morning (or middle of night), she NEVER just babbles/plays or even cry lightly (like my oldest did)...Its all out growling type deep screaming! I really want to enjoy my beautiful daughter, but I just feel like she is miserable all the times, which in turn makes me miserable! My husband and I fight because I'm so tired and miserable, etc.. Its just horrible.
I should add that I don't believe in "cry it out" methods, but even if I did.....this girl would NOT give up..trust me! I've been desperate a couple times and had to leave her to cry while I took a shower or something...She did not/will not give up.. I've never seen anything like this.. This is nothing new either, she's been like this for a very long time....just seems to keep getting worse..
If I walk out of the room, she is right behind me crying... I understand thats separation anxiety, but its extreme with her..
Please please help me figure out what to do.
Thank you soo much for your time!

Is she cutting her molars? Possibly something in her diet that is giving her gas? My friends daughter was a very difficult child she would throw all out screaming growling tantrums where she was screaming so much that she would make herself throw up and come to find out it was chocolate that was causing this reaction. She completely cut out chocolate and she calmed down, she is 8 now and she still is very strong willed and throws tantrums and growls at her when she is mad but it is much better than it was when she was little. Maybe she is just strong willed or a tad bit jealous of the new baby.

Hi A., I have a few things that it might be, first I think I would take her to a different doc for a second opinion. It could be the acid reflux that the other moms where talking about. My thought was maybe night terrors. I don't know very much about them but you could probobly find out about them on the internet. I heard that they could be pretty bad and even interfere with her moods during the day. Also my husbands neice would turn into a terror whenever she had orange juice. So maybe it is something in her diet. Try paying attention to what she eats for a little while and take certain things that you know she has everyday away to narrow it down.

Has she been checked for things like Reflux, or ulcers?

Her poor sleeping and night screaming reminds me a lot of my son, who's had terrible acid reflux since birth. There are medications and special diets that can help ease the pain and damage of the acid rising. Something worth looking into.

I would get a 2nd medical opinion just to be safe. Have you checked for food allergies/sensitiveties? It might be worth it to have checked by a ped allergist and also maybe have her screaned for autism.
