My daughter is a year and two months and is still not walking. I know people say that it will come with time and all, but she walks along the furniture she pushes her walker along and her pooh car but refuses to walk on her own. When my husband and I try to encourage her to walk she takes one step thinks about it and then just falls right on her butt, and crawls to us. I don't know what else to do i could use some advice or just some plain good fashion stories, anything is appreciated.
It'll happen.....And when it does it'll bring tears of joy, like when she first smiled or laughed.....Nothing to be worried about. Then before you know it, you'll be chasing her everywhere! A few steps, a bit more and before you know it you'll be yelling at the TOP OF YOUR LUNGS, GET BACK HERE, DON'T YOU RUN AWAY FROM ME, STOP, to name a few.....Enjoy your precious little one!
I would not be rushing her or concerned if I were you. Relax. Crawling is an excellent important developmental stage. Be well!
My daughter didn't start walking without help until 15 months. My nephew, 18 months.
My daughter (my first) started walking around 14 mos and for several months after was a very shaky walker - arms out like frankenstein. My son, started walking shortly after turning 9 mos. Just to show you that they all are different. What your daughter is doing is totally normal. I wouldn't do anything but relax, as soon as you stop wishing for it, it will happen! Then you'll be shouting at her to sit down! Just kidding.

I would not panic unless the ped has an issue with something. All kids walk at their own and different pace.My daughter who is 27 months walked at 10 months-my son who is 13 months crawled at 3 months and walked at 1year-so like the other woman put it-goes to show you they are all different. My dad gave me the best advice-I use to panic when my daughter did not roll over when the book said she should-He told me"they will do things when they are ready" and that is the best advice and I always remember that when someone says they should be doing this or they should be doing that-don't worry they will and like the other woman said You WILL ALWAYS be yelling something-we call my son DENNIS THE MENACE esp now since he walks he is into EVERYTHING! It sounds like she's doing just fine. In another month or so she'll be walking around like crazy & you'll have forgotten how worried you were about it! Try taking her to the park or other places with young children. She'll be eager to keep up.
Keep her crawling. Don't encourage walking unless you see signs of neurologic handicaps, and even then you should take her to the doctor. But seriously, walking will help the 2 hemispheres of the brain to communicate. It has been proven that babies who walk early or have little time crawling often are dyslexic or have learning disabilities. So keep her crawling. My son did not walk until he was 15mo.
