I used ob/gyne and associates of lake forest. they have an office in Gurnee right off Grand Ave. There are 4 female doctors and 1 male and they are all excellent. Dr.Oh was my favorite. ###-###-####
Although it is a little late in the game, I am really starting to think about possibly changing my OB/hospital for my next delivery. I am currently 6 1/2 months pregnant and the closer I am getting, the more I am remembering certain things about my last hospital stay that I find very unpleasant. And there have been a few things with my current OB's office that I haven't been real thrilled with either. Unfortunately, I am so afraid of change that after my first experience, when I found out I was pregnant, I never moved forward to change my doctor. But after talking with friends and relatives about things that occured and how I am feeling, they have encouraged me to make a switch as well.
I would like to go to Lake Forest Hospital this time around and would like to get a name of a doctor in the Gurnee area that practices out of that hospital. I would also like to find out if any moms out there had switched doctors more than mid stream through their pregnancy and if they were happy with the choice they made and how they handled it.
It's funny how much you can forget about a bad experience while you are being swept away with your everyday activities and now that I have been talking with other women who had totally different birth experiences from mine, I am realizing that as a first time Mom I did not know that I should have been treated differently and some things were not done to the "norm".
Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated!

Please go with your gut! That little voice is aways right. I was mad me second pregancy because I was 39 I was treated very poorly by a Gurnee doctors office. I will descibe one doctor as chicken little. The sky was always falling with her. She sent me to the hospital for a blood sugar test that takes four hours. The hospital did not tell me the truth about the test before I got there. I also was scheduled for a none stress test at noon. I was left there from noon until 4 pm. I had no money so I could not buy any food. I was white and blue by the time I got home. Shortly after this experience I was sent to Evanston Hospital because they are high risk doctors. I would be dead if it were not for them. I had a non birth related happening. If the hospital staff and I had not been on the ball I would be dead.
Contact Lake Forest Hospital today and get that new doctor. There are two doctors that work there that one of my friends really liked and I cannot remember there names. Seems to me they are brothers.

LOVE THEM ALL! I've delivered 2 babies there and had an excellent experience each time!
I switched at 19 weeks in my second pregnancy for reasons similar to those you mentioned, however, I switched away from delivering at Lake Forest Hospital with Ob-Gyne of Lake Forest (Dr Hubbell delivered my first) to another hospital and a different practice. It was very stressful, but in hindsight, it was definitely the right decision for me. I would have been much more stressed out if I had stayed somewhere I was not comfortable - plus I believe they would have transferred me out to a high-risk practice at 28 weeks when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
Each pregnancy and birth is so different and so personal that what's right for one person might be totally wrong for someone else. Everyone I know who has kids has had a completely different childbirth experience, so don't worry too much that other women had a different experience from yours. Chances are, you will have a different experience from the way it was your first time, even if you deliver at the same hospital.
Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor? If you are still not comfortable with your current choice of doctor and hospital, try calling a few of the offices recommended to see if they can schedule a consultation for you. Obviously at this stage in your pregnancy their ability to fit you in the schedule will affect whether they can accept you as a patient. Also, if you haven't done so already, call Lake Forest Hospital to schedule a tour.
Good luck!
I would definately recomend OB/GYN Associates of Lake Forest. Dr. Heiberger is the doctor I usually see, but I really liked them all. Dr. Oh delivered my twins and she was fantastic. I also cannot say enough about the nurses at Lake Forest. They were amazing and very helpful. One of my twins had to stay in the special nursery for 10 days, and the nurses were so wonderful to our family. I really just can't say enough about them.
I can totally understand. I originally wanted to deliver at Lutheran, my primary hospital so I found an OBGYN that was out of Lutheran. I hated not only my original Dr. in the practice, but everyone in the practice, the front office, the nurses, etc... So I decided that Lake Forest would be better for me. I researched all the doctors out of Lake Forest that were in my network and came up with a wonderful practice with two great locations! Women's Health Specialists was wonderful and my Dr., Julie Snow was terrific! I highly recommend her. She has a wonderful bedside manner, she is fun, understanding, and when you aren't feeling well, steps up to the plate to understand what is going on. She didn't hesitate to send me for additional testing towards the end when I wasn't feeling well. http://www.whsmd.com/
