Wanting to Begin a "Dinner Club"

I have been reading a bit about these dinner clubs and I want to start one. I would like to meet other women, or men, who enjoy cooking and learning new recipes. I would like to get a group started where we meet once a month and we each bring a dish based on the theme of the month. We would meet up at one members house,or other neutral place, and each member would be required to host an evening some where. I was thinking the group could pick a theme each month and each meember would bring a dish and recipe to the meeting based on that theme, and we would exchange the recipes and try each dish. It could give us a chance to try new things, experiment and maybe find interesting and creative meals for our families, not to mention meeting new people who enjoy cooking. You don't need to be a gourmet chef or anything, just open minded, and able to search up new and interesting recipes on line, or via a cook book... or get really creative and come up with something yourself. Then at the meeting we will all try a portion of each dish and give our opinions on it. We would discuss what we liked about each dish, what we didn't, ways we could each make it "our own" and share any new bits of information or ideas we may have. In the future, if this turns out to be sucessful and fun maybe we could even build up recipes to make our own cook book! Anyways, if anyone else is interested, let me know. I'd love to get a group of 8-12 people, but it will depend on interest. I don't want a group that is constantly trying to "one up" each other, I just want friendly, honest people who want to try new ideas. If that sounds like you give me a response, or a message and let me know. Thanks!!

I would love to do something like that too!
I LOVE cooking and I love trying new things.
I am Russian and have many family recipes that everyone seems to love, and would enjoy sharing and showing how to etc.
Let me know when you organize this and I know some friends of mine (also with kids) that have talked about doing something just like this, so they would be interested too.

That sounds wonderful. My husband and I are always experimenting with new dishes. We like inviting guinea pigs (our family & friends) to sample our dishes and then get their opinions. We enjoy laughing and having fun in the kitchen and you will be happy to hear that although we come from very competitive families we are quite the opposite. I am very interested in chatting with you a little further. Hope to hear from you soon.
