My 2 week old has watery eyes. Is this a sign of an allergy?

Could be a blocked tear duct. Are his eyes getting crusty too? Call the doc

my doctor told me to use weak tea for a blocked tear duct...make the tea weak and let cool...then use a cotton ball or something like that to gently wipe over the eyes...it worked!!!!

They put the cream stuff in their eyes when they're first born, but it didn't completely work with my last child. We had to keep putting the stuff in his eyes for a few weeks. They would water and some little goopy stuff would be going on. It could be allergies, but at such a young age, they will be cautious about treating for something like that. Ask the doctors at the 2 week check-up.

Both of my kids had blocked tear ducts so it could be that if it continues. It's normally not a big deal and usually clears up on it's own. In my kids one eye was always worse than the other and it would be the worst if they were sick or had a cold.

Rarely a sign of allergy at 2 weeks old. Esp. if you're breastfeeding. However, if the cat is sleeping next the baby, maybe.

Some, watering of the eyes is normal in a newborn but I would definately mention it at your next appointment.
