Have you tried strawberry milk? My daughter and my nephew are 3 months apart. She hated chocolate milk and absolutely refused to drink it. He didn't care for strawberry. I tried strawberry nestle quick and she drank it with no problem. You know it is really sweet. So as time went by I reduced the amount I mixed in and have had no problems since. Good luck

My daughter was the same way with whole milk. She wouldn't touch it, I went from BF to a cup for her. She would drink from the cup fine when it was juice but didn't like whole milk. I tried giving her 1 %, which my family drinks, and she drank it. I think the whole milk was too thick. I never put her on whole milk, but on occaision bought 2% for the extra fat, she is a thin little girl. She is now 2 1/2 and doing fine. My son who is now 11 mo. is totally opposite, he couldn't wait to stop BF for the bottle of milk. THe first night he got it, he slept thru the night and has ever since.

Good luck. There is also Strawberry milk and banana milk out there, it could be worth a try. Good Luck

You can try goat's milk - similar in nutritional content and taste as breast milk. Or soy, almond or hemp milk. Or feed the baby yogurt, cheese and calcium containing foods like green leafy veggies and OJ.

Humans don't need cow's milk, they need calcium. Look for it in other places.

My daughter does too. I mix the Danactive Yogurt drinks with the reg 2% milk. She like the strawberry kind. Works really well. But if I use too much milk and not enough Danactive forget it. Its got to be just the right amount so she doesnt taste the milk. Hope this helps!

My little guy was the exact same way. He's now 13 months old. I found that sometimes it was the temperature and occasionally the cup he received it in. When little one's are used to breastfeeding they really only want it from the Tap. My son never drank from a bottle so he always ran or turned his nose up when I offered anything. I found that he like the Nubby sippy cups and just recently the nubby with the straws. I made a small 6oz glass of Next Step ProSObee and put it in the fridge. When he was ready to nurse I left the room and handed someone else the sippy with the Next Step. It took several tries and even taking off the lid to let him taste it from the side of the cup for him to realize that he liked it. Keep offering try different cups. You'll find something he likes sooner or later. Good luck.

My daughter is the same way. I continue to offer her milk every so often. But my doctor told me to give her other dairy products (cheese, yogurt, ice cream) along with a daily vitamin. Right now she gets 1/2 of a Flintstones vitamin.
Talk with you doctor about giving her a daily vitamin and continue to offer it to your baby. Good luck, my daughter has been like this for 6 months, but I am sure one of these days she will come around. Just hang in there.

My daughter is the same way- she will drink a little bit of milk out of a straw sippy cup, but not very much. So you could try letting her pick out her own cup maybe?
The other moms have said yogurt and cheese which is good, but my doc did say that we should keep trying whole milk.
Just this weekend we got free samples of ProBugs organic whole milk kefir. Its drinkable and tastes similar to yogurt. My daughter LOVES LOVES LOVES it. Plus it has the calcium and vitamin D she needs. I am going out today to buy more. Hopefully it's not too expensive but if its good for her and she likes it, I'm buying it. Maybe your baby will like it too?

Try cheese, yogurt, calcium-fortified tofu, etc. Just get some calcium in there and don't worry about milk.

Take care!

My daughter did the same thing, and I tried all kinds of combinations. What finally worked was just a little bit of the yobaby drinkable yogurt mixed with 2% Lactaid. Whole milk was too thick for her, and Lactaid is a little sweeter than regular milk (more like breastmilk). Good luck!

My son still hates Milk plain or chocolate so I have adapted with giving him Milk mixed with strawberry banana Kefir. This way he is getting his calcium and vitamin D plus some fruit and yogurt cultures for digestion.

I"m having the same problem. My son doesn't like whole milk, though he'll drink 2% with less problem. He does love the ProBus Kefir, YoBaby yogurt (whole milk), 2%yogurt smoothies (Stonyfield Farm has some great ones) and cheese. I keep trying the whole milk, since he's so active he runs off all the calories, but as long as he's getting enough calcium I worry less. Be careful introducing soy - a lot more people are allergic to it than most people realize.

I just kept giving my daughter sippy cups full everyday, and one day, she finally drank it. It took my daughter weeks to get use to the taste of whole, cow's milk, but she did, and she loves it now.

Why does your baby need milk? I wouldn't worry about it. My ds, who nursed till he was 2, only would drink skim milk. I think breast milk is leaner with less fat and he liked the consistency better. Try lowfat or skim if you really want the kiddo to have milk. But it's not necessary.

Does she still just want you? Probably, I started sippy cups at 6-7 months with water maybe add a splash of apple juice. I bet eventually she'll drink the milk. At 8 months or so they all started eating yogurt so I knew they were getting calcium.

Why is everybody thinks milk is something kids MUST drink? Humans have difficulties digesting cows milk.Milk has been linked to behavioral problems and allergies.
My youngest son refused milk after I stopped breastfeeding and doesn't drink any milk at all. We don't forse him. He gets calcium from hard cheese, yogurt, kefir, farmers cheese, riazenka, cottage cheese, etc.
I must say my younger one is much better behaved than older one who drinks milk. More attention, focus and no tantrums. Give your baby a milk-free try! Good luck!

My daughter was one when we tried to give her milk and she absolutely resistant. She didn't have a cup of milk until she was at least 15 months, and then it wasn't much. Instead, I gave her cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese (which she loved!) and I hid plain milk in other things, like scrambled egg and oatmeal. She's almost two now, and though she still doesn't like milk, she is growing very well and is perfectly healthy, so don't worry!

What is most important is that your baby is consistently getting approx. 20 ounces of dairy per day (depending on age) for calcium intake. I'm surprised your doc recommended chocolate milk, why add sugar to the diet?? As others have mentioned, calcium can be obtained in yogurt, cheeses, and mixing milk into oatmeal for example.

I have twins and when switching from formula to whole milk, one loved it while one took his time. I kept at it filling up the bottle and only giving him that to drink. After two days, he reluctantly started to drink and then slurped it down with no issues. Had the same problem switching from bottles to sippy cups, again my perseverance (as difficult as it was) won out and no more drinking issues.

I think it's important to use whole milk (or another form of it like soy or rice) with more fat in it as your baby needs healthy fats now. Of course, your doctor should clarify this but that's what my doctor said.

Good luck!
