Just stop eating meat. and drinking sodas, if you drink a lot of soda. An ex-boyfriend of mine did those two things - oh, and started exercising - and lost over 100 lb.
A reasonably healthy diet is best overall. If you just take a pill to lose weight, you're still eating unhealthy things, which means you get sick more often and are more likely to get things like cancer and heart disease. Eating healthfully, and living healthfully, makes you glow. It also helps you think better, feel more alert and active, and it gives you a more youthful appearance - which will also last longer through the years. Otherwise, the best you get is: skinnier, but, you know, haggard-looking, and you still need half a pot of coffee to feel like you have any energy. Not exactly lovely.
Check out some new recipes. They're way more motivating (and fun) than any stupid pill. Just find some healthful things that appeal to you (it's not all just carrots and salad). Substitute those for your least-healthy meals. While you're at it, look around for some healthy-ish snacks that will satisfy your biggest, worst cravings, and substitute those for the bad things.
And ask attractive, fit, vibrant-looking women what *they* do that makes them look so good. It is not just genes or different metabolisms - or if the latter, be aware that metabolisms are affected by the ways we eat and live. Do what they do.
