Hello friends
Does anyone know the formula for the new points plus program with weight watchers?
I can't afford to join at this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch

Can't help you with the formula but I did WW for a year or so, lost about 40lbs and then gained it all back. This time around I am on the 17 day diet. The book is only about $25.00 at Walmart. So much more cost effective for me. I am doing great on it and actually like it more than WW. Best of luck to and congrats on making the change on a new, happier, healthier you!

One of the biggest changes of the new one is that most fruits are zero points now and your total point allowance goes up. On the old mine was 20 or so and the new made me around 29. If you know the old program I would stick with that. Many do not like the new formula and find it harder to lose.

I have done WW several times and don't want to purchase the new program either. I go by what I have done in the past and just count fruits & veggies as free. I would typically get 20 points and I had a girl I work calculate where I would be now and it would be 29 points/day. Most items went up in points though so you need to be careful or else you will over eat.

Hi am a WW member and we asked that one before - apparently, the formula is too complicated so that is why they made the calculator. Now, I understand if you cannot join right now so let me give you a couple ideas - most women that are on it (unless really large) are going to be 29 points plus- at least most of the women in my group are. Men are different - they get A LOT more points plus. Most all fruits are free and many veggies are either free or 1-2 pts +. If you have an android phone (smart phone), you can download the calculator (search for weight watchers calculator). Also, in our meeting, a member just told us about an app called wwcalcscan - it can scan a barcode on an item and tell you the points.- she said it was accurate (only thing, if you buy, say, a box of fiber one bars, it has hard time scanning the box, but it will scan the individual bar if there is a bar code on it). I havent had a chance to download it and check it out yet but sounds cool.

Also, if you want to follow loosely, you could try using the old calculation method and add a couple points onto it to get the new points plus value. I have found, that most things are typically 1-2 points more than they used to be. However, you get fruit pretty much free so you can bulk up on that throughout the day.

good luck!
