I just started weight watchers and this is my 3rd week. I bought the cookbook they have at the meetings. I am still having problems finding something to make for dinner. The ideas in that cookbook are very complex and require lots of ingredients and are not really "normal weekday meals" more gourmet than we are used to. Does anyone have some good ideas or recepies that have weight watchers points on them...thanks!

I love weight watchers! I lost weight on it twice, once when I needed to lose and also quit smoking the same day I joined and than after I had my now two year old. WWW.DWLZ.COM is free, but WWW.Savingdinner.com has a small fee, but I saved in groceries with having the list what it cost (I think it was like $29 for a year and they have the option of less than a year). The body clutter menus actually have the points listed on them. My boyfriend always jokes that he wants to find the lady that makes these recipes. He doesnt even complain that they are healthy because they are so good. I always been a good cook, but these recipes are great. I think there is even some free recipes on there.

When I did WW before I got pregnant, my friends and I used Aimee's Adventures recipes:

http://www.aimeesadventures.com/Recipes.html

I am by no means a gourmet cook, and I found all of the recipes I tried to be very easy...and very good!

WHOOOO HOOOOO!!!!

I do WW myself and am loving it. I do not attend meetings and just do it at home on my own. I use two sites. One is www.healthdiscovery.net It is called Boot camp buddies and has both plans for WW core and flex. It has more recipes than you can imagine and a chat so you can talk to other ww people.

I also use the www.sparkpeople.com site and signed up for the WW team. That is great too. If you need more info please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi C.,
I startd on WW in March and have lost 50 lbs, from 267 to 217.
Turkey ( white meat of course) is a good meal in the evening. we had turkey mexican salad last night is it was about 6 points without the taco bowl.
The WW ice cream sandwitches are great for a desert, and only two pts.
Me personally have never thought that the WW snacks at the meetings helped much.
Good Luck\TEH

C.,
Check out the "Quick and Healthy" series of cookbooks by Brenda J. Ponichtera. Here is a one of the titles: "Quick & Healthy Volume II: More Help for People Who Say They Don't Have Time to Cook Healthy Meals (Plastic Comb)by Brenda J. Ponichtera (Author". I've used her cookbooks for years. Plenty of recipes for easy, good, healthy weeknight meals. You can go to Amazon and type in her last name for all the titles. Congrats on your lifestyle change!

Try www.dwlz.com and see if you like it. It's called Dottie's Weight Loss Zone. If you scroll down and look for "recipes" she has a very easy WW section of recipes that I use a lot. Very simple and easy and yummy!

Good luck!

try www.dwlz.com there are good recipes and you can pull points for a ton of restaurants. also you should get a lot of recipes from the meetings, they usually post easy and quick recipes at the beginning of the meetings.

I subscribed to the e-tools and got a lot of recipes off the website. They seemed to be better than the cookbook recipes.

I don't have any recipes for you but please let me know how it goes with Weight Watchers. I am about to have my 2nd child anyday and am planning on starting Weight Watchers 3 weeks after I have him. I have never done anything like Weight Watchers and would love some feedback on what you think and if it is pretty easy to do. So if you get the chance, let me know how it goes for you.

There is another WW cookbook that is called 5 ingredient 15 minute recipes. I love that one because I just don't have the time or energy for all those ingredients & steps to prepare dinner. 5 ingredients, I can deal with! lol I think you could find the cookbook at an inexpensive price on Amazon.com or maybe Ebay. Hope to help!

register at the WW website & take a look at their message boards. There are several that are recipe focused. I used to get a ton of recipes off there.

It is a little daunting - they do such a good job making the recipes yummy, but I agree that they take a lot of time & steps. Here are a few of my tricks:

Do a lot of crockpot cooking. Easy & good

Buy precooked chicken in the prepackaged strips or cubes - you can make lots of easy meals using it - like chicken caesar salads, chicken spaghetti, etc.

Spaghetti sauce is low in points - I think it was 3 pts. for half a cup - and it is excellent just poured over stir-fried veggies. (which are zero points except for the olive oil) You can add chicken for protein, and can even cook up noodles for the rest of the family if they don't want the veggie mix.

SF pudding & coolwhip are low points & pretty satisfying for dessert

But really - go look at the message boards - they are inspirational, both for your mental state and for your meal creativity.

I have a few files of recipes with the points figured & my "review" of them - if you want them, PM me with your email address. Good luck! It's an awesome program! S.

first- good for you for doing weight watchers! that's great! it's a wonderful program that is very "doable" and you'll be able to continue it with maintenance fairly easily. try picking up the weight watchers magazine (try barnes & noble or at your meeting). there are some great recipes in there that easier to make. also, i have a great cookbook from cooking light called 5 ingredients in 15 minutes cookbook and it's wonderful (you'll have to convert to points, but once you do just write them directly into the cookbook so you'll always have them). also, when i did WW i made lots of salads for dinner (no carbs).... try adding grilled chicken with different marinades, different kinds of veggies, even fruits like strawberries, mandarin oranges, & a few almonds with grilled chk and romaine lettuce - yum! good luck!!
