Has anyone gone through the Weight Watchers meetings? If so, did you find them beneficial? I am going to be starting the Weight Watchers program and am not sure if I should do the online program or attend the meetings. My husband doesn't have an 8 to 5 job so attending the meetings may be a challenge but I am not even sure how many meetings you attend or what it is all about. I do plan to go in and speak to a staff member but just wanted some other opinions too. Thanks much!!

What can I do next?

I lost 80 lbs. in 1972 and never put it back on. The meetings were essential
to the program. It gave me the incentive to go on and you had to weigh in
every week. WW taught me how to eat. If I was not getting married and
moving I was going to become a lecturer. Good luck and get to the meetings if you could. I looked forward to seeing everyone every week.

I've been on Weight Watchers online w/out attending meetings since March 2011. I've lost 58 lbs. and have about 9 more till my goal. Even with the online program, I believe you can attend meetings. I would attend one and see how that goes to help make your decision. Good luck to you!!!! It's such a GREAT program, I can't say enough good things about it!

I did the meetings and went every Friday morning. I know that some people have great success with the online program, but I never could have done that-don't that the self control/self motivation. For me it was knowing that I had to step on a scale in front of someone else every week that kept my motivation up when I wanted to "cheat." Plus, they celebrate your successes with you, which feels really good.l I lost over 25 pounds (which was my goal) in about five months and kept if off until fertility drugs and then pregnancy kicked my butt :).
Good luck!

i am on a program currently that is similar - it's one provided through my work. anyway, was have a "health champion" that does our weigh in, body fat % readings, and one-on-one meetings, and i swear, without her, there's no way i would have done it. i have gone 34 years and never lost ANY weight doing it on my own. having someone holding me accountable, taking a vested interest, has made all the difference. i say try the meetings if you can swing them. your liklihood of success will increase. good luck!

You can go weekly or even to every meeting. The first teacher was constantly talking about food in a way that made me crave it. A different lady was way better for me. The best thing I learned was what a portion is.
They sell scoops that are perfect for cereal, fruits, etc. i also went to walmart in the corelle section and bought tiny 1/4 cup bowls to help. It is weird but it works to use smaller plates and bowls. Food is my one weakness.
I started going back. It was not embarrassing. The weight is kept confidential though I don't care. I am amazed at how many people have overcome weight issues through WW. I hope to keep it off this time.

Also, you meet people who meet to exercise at parks and such.
