I do recruitmsnt for the Venice Parent Daycare and Preschool. We take kids at 2. We are a parent run school, which means there is a eairly serious time commitment for the parents. you can check out our web site at VPDP.org.
Good luck,

I am looking for a good preschool for my 2 year old daughter. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good preschool on the westside that is affordable and may still have openings for this September?

C.,
Most preschools will not take your daughter unless she is 3 by September 1. There are two ways to go. You can go with the non-church based independent preschools or there are many church/temple schools around the westside. When you say "Westside" what do you mean? You say you have a 4.5 yr old. Where is he in preschool and can't she go there? Church/temple schools tend to be very loving and simple (also more affordable) and are a nice way to expose your child to your faith at an early age. Independent schools are often based on various educational philosophies (Montessori, developmental, academic, Waldorf, Reggio)There are books out there about preschools in LA (along with elementary/secondary schools). I would ask at a local book store or so a web search for Private Schools LA or Preschools LA. As for space, you'll have to talk to schools directly about their openings. Again, church schools are more likely to accommodate you. Hope this helps. Savvy Source online is another good spot to try.

what do you consider the westside??? a city or cross streets would be helpful
Hi C. M,
I have 3 children that has been through this pre-school. Great environment and people that love your child as their own. Wizkids. On Overland & Venice. Owner name Janelle ###-###-####
My daughter (Charlotte) goes to Redwood Village Children's center, near the Marina Shopping center in Marina del Rey. It's the most affordable I've found and has an amazing woodsy outdoor space with a great play structure, unlike some of the others schools that all seem to be on a heavy traffic street. They use a play-based curriculum and the teachers are pretty creative.
Here is the phone #: ###-###-####
Good luck! -R.
