Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas. Some of these places I was not aware of and will keep them for future references. We decided to go with Incredible Pizza. The party will be in a couple of wks. I will let you know how it went.

I am not sure where u live, but I know of a few great spots my nephews had parties at: swimming (u need many adults), Laser Zone, and at an indoor baseball center. The kids could work on their batting practice. The baseball center also had an area great for the younger family kiddos that included the large inflatable bounce castles and slides. Have a great time!!!!

We have gone to Sea Star for the past 2 years. It is in Missouri City/Sugar land. They do indoor swim parties for the kids. I forget the price but it's reasonable. You can invite up to 15 kids at one fixed price (pay more if you want more). Kids LOVE to swim and parents stay cool inside at the same time. One time did we get a hostess who was a little timid, I kinda had to run the show but the other time it was fine. Just ask the director that you want "strong" hosts esp. with boys :) Brian there is great. We had 15 kids and that is a lot. They have a deal with Dominos and you can get large pizzas for $7 delivered OR you can bring your own food. PLUS they provide all the party decorations, plates, balloons, etc. which saves you $$. It is very casual there, if you are looking for more of a high end sort or place, you may want to check it out in person. It's low key like a YMCA, nothing fancy.

Bounce U (same as PUMP it UP)is a blast but I dropped $400 on the party by the time it was over. It doesn't start off that way....it's about $235 for the room for 2 hours but it's all the extras that get you. It costs the same amount whether you invite 1 kid or 25. By the time I got pizza and drinks for the kids and the parents plus tips, it adds up. They expect you to tip like a restaurant and put the "gratuity" line on the total bill which was $330 for me, so with a 20% tip, I was up to $400. I have no problem tipping but I thought $15 each for the 2 hosts would have been fine. You have to order from their menu so you can't bring in food except cake.

I was listening to KSBJ radio station the other day and they were giving ideas of fun things to do in our area. One of the things they talked about was the Houston Fire House. It is a museum to Firefighters. Evidently you can have parties there. I think they posted other fun ideas on the KSBJ web site for other thoughts...

Have Fun!

I don't know what area you live in, but if you are close to the Katy area a great place for a kid's party is Clay's restaurant on Clay Rd. It is fun for the kids because they have animals you can feed and a big play area for the kids to run around in. Best of all it is very cost efficient. When you book a party you get the room for free for 3 hours, a hostess the entire time and all you have to do is pay for the kids meals. I have had 2 parties there for less than $100. You can also bring your own activities like moonwalks. Hope this helps.. it's a great time!!

We just went to the Bayou Wildlife Park last week and it was a blast. Some genius was having a safari themed party there complete with plastic pith hats! I think you bring your own food and decorations. When you first drive in, there were emus literally poking their heads in the car for food--kinda cool but scary. There is also pony rides, petting zoo. Then you can ride on a tram all through the park to see all the animals---lemurs, rhino, alligators, ostriches, camels, longhorn, gazelles, zebras, etc. Most of the animals come right up to the tram for food---again kind of shocking but cool. Anyway its southeast Houston area-- Alvin/Pearland. Definitely worth the drive. Its $14 for adults, $7 for kids but babies are free. Here is a link:

Another good place to have a party is Incredible Pizza, they have rides, bumper cars, games, etc...it's Chuckie Cheese to the 10th power...lol Check them out at www.incrediblepizza.com Hope this helps!

Have a good one,

I also live in Houston and I have a 9 year old son. I'm not sure if you have heard of Incredible Pizza. There is one located on Hwy 6 in Sugarland. My son has a ball he loved it the first time that we went there for a party and he really prefer it over Chuck E. Cheese, It is actual more to do there for 8 year olds. Hope this helps.

If you want to do a pizza party, and don't like the idea of Chuck E. (wow, SOOOOO crazy there!) there's a great alternative called Incredible Pizza. I'm not sure if they're in Houston Proper, but I do know there is one in Sugar Land. My kids never ask to go to Chuck E.'s anymore...they always ask for Incredible Pizza! The game area is pretty large, and they have go-carts, mini-bowling and mini-golf, as well as bumper cars, a little kids area, and plenty of video games and skeeball. It's ticket-based just like Chuck E. but I find that the prizes are a little more reasonable. Instead of carrying around a cup full of coins, they give you a card that holds your money and you swipe it at the games, which is a lot more convenient. You can even put your ticket points on your card if you don't use them all or you want to save them for another time. The pizza is all you can eat buffet style, and they have pizza, pasta, salad bar, potato bar and dessert bar. (They even have a burrito bar sometimes!) The food areas are divided up - there's a cartoon area (The Gym, it plays Boomerang classic cartoons), a movie area (The Drive-In, last time we were there they were playing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), a family room type area (classic sitcoms like I Love Lucy and Bewitched), and an area where I think there aren't any TVs at all (we've never sat in that area LOL) so you have plenty of choice. It's wonderful entertainment for everyone!
