easter baskets in the morning (i discontinued them last year but we all missed them so much i'm bringing them back. yes, my kids are way too old for easter baskets. at least i've let the plastic egg hunt go.) then fix a big dinner (lamb roast, lots of fun side dishes) and hopefully some extended family will show up. at the very least, i plan to indulge in some zoe's chocolate.
mmmm. zoe's chocolate.

It will just be our family of four as well, so we are keeping it simple. Church in the morning, and there is going to be an egg hunt after that we will take the kids to. We are also hiding some eggs in our backyard for them to find. We will do a meal, ham, potatoes, corn grilled on the cob, just just smaller scale than normal. After naps, we plan to take them to a park and just have some fun.
Enjoy your day!

We celebrate on natural Easter which is the first day of spring, march 20 this year, so we already did it. We dyed eggs the night before the the easter bunny came and brought baskets, than we went out for brunch and went for a hike to be out doors and close to nature. We each brought one or two eggs for rolling down the hill for making our spring wishes.

We will start celebration on good friday . On Sunday is church then off to my inlaws ( SIL and her family will be coming with 3 kids......we have not seen them since Christmas). We do not do eggs or baskets or bunnies...........maybe it's boring for some but we just want to focus on the real meaning of Easter. Christ is risen!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your time with your family.....big or small:)

We have a simple breakfast, a quick egg hunt for our daughter, and then go to the local Zoo to see the annual "farm babies" exhibit. Easter for us is a celebration of spring and rebirth.

My MIL has to have an emergency Angiogram so I have no idea what we're doing now.
We were goin to dye eggs on Saturday, do a mini easter egg hunt for my 2 y/o Sunday morning with baskets, then go over to an aunts house with the whole family.
My MIL is realllllllly upset about this, thinking she "ruined" Easter, which is ridiculous, but that was one of her main complaints last night (that and missing the laker game, lol). So I'm thinking of decorating her house with eggs by Saturday so when she comes home they will be all over (the blow out kind), and helping my FIL get a dinner going and together on Sunday.
Hopefully it will make my MIL feel better.

Egg dying w/friends weekend before.
Fun for the kids to dye eggs and fun for us to hang w/our friends.
Then egg hunt on Sunday morning w/just the kids.
Easter baskets for them.
Then we will have a nice breakfast at home and lunch out or w/family.
That's it. I will go to church alone. A nice relaxing day.

for me, its important to go to church for easter. i wanted to go with my fiance as a family, but he has to work that day. so instead, my daughter and i are spending saturday night with my parents and coloring eggs, and then sunday morning we'll be going to church with them. after church we will have an easter dinner and my sister will be coming to that. my fiance will come eat and pick me up to go home after he gets off of work. :)

This year will be just the 4 of us so it'll be very relaxed. Egg decorating Sat. We'll also be going to Sat evening service because too many people go on Sunday. Sat night, I hide my kids' baskets, attach a ribbon and run the spool of ribbon all over the house, ending by their beds so when they wake up they'll need to follow the trail all over to find their hidden treats. They love this. Then egg hunt and Easter lunch or early dinner.

It is just my 14 year old son and I, so our holidays are pretty simple.

On Saturday we are driving about an hour to my bestest girlfriends house for a small get together - we always look forward to her invites. Great food and good company.

On Easter Sunday, the teen group at our church is hosting a breakfast so my son and I are going to that, then services at 10:30am. I really want to go to sunrise service at 6:30am also - but I don't think I am going to get my son up for that. :(

Other than that we have absolutely no plans. Heck, I don't even know what I am cooking for Easter...would it be horrible if I threw burgers on the grill?

Happy Easter
God Bless

now that the kids are all adult or teens, we make sure our focus is on Great Grandma who turned 90 this year!

& surprisingly, my 14yo niece has requested a "really good Easter Egg Hunt"! How crazy is that.....

Normally, we would attend Mass & then enjoy time with the whole family. This year Gr Gma is unable to travel, so we are moving our celebration into the city where she lives....which means Saturday night Mass....if we go at all. & all of these changes are a.o.k.....because the matriarch of our family deserves her family all together!

In the past, we have always stayed home and had a special lunch after church. We have often attended extra services on Maunday Thursday and Good Friday.
This is our oldest son's first year away at college. So, we letting our 16 year old play hookey and picking up the other son this evening and heading for the beach for some family time. We will have friends join us on Saturday.
