My daughter is 6 1/2 and she loves her Little Pet Shop game, Nintendogs and Build A Bear.
Hello Mamas,
My daughter finally got her long awaited DS and she is thrilled about it! However, I'm not sure what games she'll be most interested in playing. So far she wants the Sims 2 Apartment pets which we will get but what are some other fun and interesting ones out there.
Also, does anyone know of a store or online site you can get the games cheaper at?
Thanks for any helpful advice.

I work for Toys R' Us so I know the DS and the best games forwards and backwards. The best sellers for the DS are, of course, all the Mario games. But, I would recommend Super Mario Brothers. It all depends on what you're looking for and what she likes. Just a few good ones are Hannah Montana, Petz(That's how the game is spelled. Raise your own pet, horsez, Catz, Dogz, Dolphinz, Tigerz etc.) and imagine series (Pretend to be a teacher, ballerina, babysitter, singer etc.) are great for her age and most girls her age gravitate towards those. There are even educational games, like BrainAge and My Spanish Coach. It all depends on the kiddo and their likes or dislikes. You wouldn't believe the selection of different games there are. Games can get expensive at TRU ranging from 9.99-34.99+ but if you're looking for a great deal, try Game Stop for gently used, reasonably priced games. Also, watch for specials in the Sunday ads. Feel free to message me with any questions. :)
Mario... My son who is 11 now, has had DS for couple of years, always wants Mario games... My daughter likes the Sims but she's 13... and her and my 11 year old niece play this game with dogs... I can't think of the name, but you pick out puppies, name them, feed them, sorry I can't think of the name, but that would be a good one too!

Awesome site for just this very thing!
There is a very cool Crayola game that my 6 yo son likes. For the most part he plays Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars though.
Look online, my friend found a website that you pay $75 approx and you can load a ton of games onto one cartridge. I think she got 30-35 games on the cartridges for her boys.
My daughter is 14 and she had game boy, nintendo, game cube and wii. She loved Animal Crossing on all of those systems. ALso Mario Kart and there was a game about dogs but I dont recall the name.
She had one with Monsters Inc as well. I know....too old by now.
Try GameStop, you can buy used games there.
