you could still be pg even if the doc says no. I was almost 5 mo. before my dr. test said I was pg. He said my hormones just didn't have to change that much.
Hello moms,
I am more than 2 weeks late for my period but not pregnant. I took a home pregnancy test once I realized I was a week late(neagative) and then the doctor did one when I was two weeks late (just a wee test) and it was also negative. I'm not on birth control but my husband and I use the withdraw method. (yeah, I know, it means I could still get pregnant)
I have never ever missed a period or been this late. I haven't had lots of stress, exercising lots or any other reasons to miss a period. I don't feel pregnant and I already have one son so I am basing it off how I felt when I was pregnant with him. I am not worried about pregnancy (if I were pregnant I would be thrilled, I just don't think I am)
I went to the doctor on Friday and he has no idea what's happening with me. My pelvis is pretty tender so he said if I don't get my period over the weekend (I didn't) he wants me to go for an ultrasound. I asked him what he expects to find and he said he didn't know.
Do any of you ladies have any ideas, advice, kind words to make me stop worrying myself sick?
*** Edited to add: I forgot to say my other symptoms, if relevant, crampy period-ish pains for the last 2 weeks, frequent urination, UTI symptoms & pain but no UTI present.
Thank you all for your responses. Would you believe that I got my period the evening that I wrote this? Luckily I was able to cancel the ultrasound in time. I do chart my cycles, and being so late is extremely abnormal for me. I just felt that something wasn't quite right but I will keep an eye on things for now. Thanks again!

I was once late by four weeks, and I thought for sure I was pregnant. I wasn't, and the doctor didn't know why, but with a progesterone shot my cycle was restarted, and I had no more issues after that. It was just a fluke I guess!
I took a few pregnancy tests that came back negative in the first few weeks of my pregnancy with my second child so it is possible that you are pregnant. Also, I began to suspect I was pregnant with my first child because my breasts got really sore, while I suspected I was pregnant with my second child because of the morning sickness. I didn't feel the same with either of my pregnancies and actually with my second I swore I wasn't because my breast didn't hurt and I thought that was the first sign. I would give it a week and take another pregnancy test and make sure to take it in the morning because that makes a difference (I've been told).
How old are you? I just missed a period and thought for sure I was toast, but it came back. I figure it may have something to do with my age.
could be that you're pregnant- also could be that you have an ovarian cyst. i had the symptoms you added on later and didn't know what i had until an ultrasound told me so. no worries, they told me cysts come and go and usually they aren't serious.
I was going to assume it was just annovulation, when the body takes a kind of break and doesn't ovulate or ovulates late one month. It can happen to anyone, at any age, for any number of reasons. But that doesn't explain your symptoms. Either way, I'd start charting your cycles. It's something every woman should do so that they don't question being late or go to the doctor for no reason.

Well you could still be pregnant, could be ectopic, not to scare you but it is an option, or it could be something else. Last fall we were trying to conceive while under a lot of stress and I was almost three weeks late. I thought for sure I was pregnant because I was crampy and hadn't started and I am never late like that. I ended up getting my period after three weeks. I am guessing it was from stress of moving (in with in-laws while building), work, etc which seemed normal but apparently affected me more than I realized. I did eventually get pregnant, but thought I would share my story because for those 3 weeks I didn't know what was going on. Good luck and let's us know what happens!
There are rare times you wont ovulate and the period doesnt come. That happened to me once. But i didn't get any of those other symtoms you are getting.
One time I was a month late and was having a heavy discharge. The doc took a preg test and said I was not- she took the test because she said I had a mega amount of infection on the swab and the medicine needed would cause a miscarriage. So I went home and took this antibacterial- and I was INDEED pregnant. It caused me to abort 2 days after starting it. I took another test when I was hemoraging and it showed pregnant.
Im not sure if it was an etopic pregnany or fouly implanted or what. Just weird that it showed negative and I was quite pregnant. I did drink a lot of water before the pee test so maybe that messed it up. Or maybe they read the test wrong.
