Mommas when your baby is 12 months old, what do/did you feed him? I need a meal plan because I am at a complete loss. My baby only have 2 front teeth and is still teething. Do I still feed him babyfood? Because he cant chew regular food. I have breakfast and the healthy snacks part down packed. I give him cereal, yogurt, cheese, eggs, applesauce and whole wheat crackers. But what do I feed him for lunch and dinner? He eat well cooked veggies but VERY slowly. Suggestions?

What can I do next?

I just cut our food up a lot smaller for my daughter and started her that way. I concentrated more on the foods that were easier anyways: mashed potatoes, mashed avocado, yogurt, etc... She had more teeth than that at that age though. Have you been bit by those two teeth or by those gums? Hurts. He can chew if he wants, it is really a matter of if he still gags when trying to swallow it. If he does then he isn't ready, but it isn't due the number of teeth in his mouth. Some say that the chewing will also help the teeth come through ~ I am still undecided on that one though.

I still give my daughter some "baby foods" stage 3. But for the most part I try to just give her whatever we're eating just chopped up more.

I fed my 1 year old - lots of breastmilk, organic yogurts, mashed potatoes, apple sauce and other softened foods. She had 4-6 teeth by then tho.

if he has problems with chewing whole food i would suggest giving him the same food as everyone else but put his in a food processor and do a slight puree, make sure it still has some textures to it so he'll get practice chewing. my son is 2 and i still do that with spaghetti so he doesnt choke on the long noodles. good luck!!

You can feed him baby food if you want, give him stage two ... my daughter HATED and refused to eat jarred food, even if I made baby food, she refused it. I took very, very, very small pieces of my chicken, hamburger, hotdog, etc and gave it to her and she gnawed on it until she could swallow it safely. Good luck!

I feed my son whatever we are eating just in very small pieces. He really likes chicken and small pieces of cheese. He is starting to eat more fruits also: peaches, watermelon, etc--easy to mash up in his mouth. I will even tear up pieces of lunch meat sometimes. He is one also but has more teeth. The biggest problem I have is that he is so independent that he MUST feed himself. He will spit out anything I put in his mouth, even with a spoon. Oh toddlerhood :)
