What Does Your Toddler/little Girl Wear as Pants?

Mine is obsessed with leggings. She has been since she was about 18 months old. I finally quit buying jeans for her b/c she will not wear them. Same with sweat pants - doesn't wear them either. It could be 80 degrees out and she will wear short leggings that hit right below her knees or it could be neg 10 degrees and she has her long leggings on that hit her ankle and puts her boots over them. She also mostly wears a skirt over top of her leggings or a dress. Sometimes just leggings tho.

So, anyone else have a leggings obsessed daughter?

What can I do next?

My daughter wears them too but that is because we cannot find jeans that fit her right. They are either too big or too small. We get the right length and then they are too big around the waist and fall down. There is no happy medium so we just don't buy them. Other then that she loves to wear leggings, sweat pants, shorts, and dresses.

My dd wouldn't wear jeans as a toddler and preschooler-leggings and dresses only. She is 13 now, and mostly lives in jeans. It will pass.

Yes. BIG yes. My 3 going on 4 year old will not wear jeans. She doesn't like the way they feel. "Soft pants" (leggings), shorts, skirts, dresses and tights are all fine. But jeans? "They aren't comfort'".

Yep, my 2.5 year old only wears leggings also. But I think it is because they are comfortable! I mean, I always feel so much more comfortable in work out pants than jeans. And kids are always moving around etc... so its good for them to have full range or motion.

My daughter is 3.5 and will wear whatever I happen to put on her - we do do the leggings with skirt or dress look quite often, but she also has jeans, capris and shorts and is fine with all of them.

Right now we are working on potty training and wearing leggings alone is definitely easier when you don't have to fuss with snaps, buttons, zippers, etc.

Yes! I don't even buy jeans any more either - just a waste of money IMHO.

Same here but she wil lwear the jeans if I tell her all her other pants are dirty. Hey, I bought them and not letting them just sit there. But, take out a dress or skirt, she goes bananas. She will NOT wear it and will have a fit! But she will see a really pretty dress in the store, like prom or wedding, and talk about princesses and such. But if I try to put one on her, watch out.

Can't wait to see what happens on Easter. I bought a beautiful dress that cannot be returned--fantastic price.

Mine too! Although she will wear other pants leggings are by far her favorite pants to wear- I think it's just because they're less restrictive and probably more comfortable.

My daughter wears pretty much anything and everything. Leggings, shorts, jeans, jeggings, sweatpants, boys or girls...she doesn't mind!

Mine twins are not legging obsessed, but maybe I am! They have less bulk than jeans and it doesn't matter is they are above the top of the shoe, they don't look like flood pants. My girls are potty trained and the jeans thing is just too much of a problem for them to do by themselves!

My daughter is 4 and has a very strong opinion on what she wears. Mostly just dresses so we have tons of tights and leggings for her to wear under them. I used to buy jeans but she only owns like one pair. She has been wearing leggins, jeggins and other cotton pants since she was about 2. It's either that or skirts, dresses. In very cold winter she will wear tights and I put leg warmers over them.

Leggings let my kid be a kid. Rarely does she wear anything else and now that she's dressing herself, thats what she chooses.

Not unless you count my stepdaughter who is into tights in 50 billion colors, and leggings to match. ;)

My DD likes leggings, too, but not to that extent. I think they just feel nicer than jeans sometimes and hey, if it works I wouldn't worry about it. You'll never have to worry about her flashing in her dress if she'll wear the leggings and if she's truly uncomfortable, she'll tell you.

My daughter is 8, and she still refuses to wear jeans. She doesn't like how they feel behind her knees when she bends down or sits down. What?? I tried to get her to wear them, but I gave up. She loves to wear sweatpants because they're comfortable (and there are lots of cute ones, so I'm okay with that) and she also loves her leggings. She also has pants that are too short for her but she refuses to let me get rid of them (they still fit her waist) so I let her wear them as capris now. I'm planning on buying her more leggings and capris for the summer, because right now she also doesn't like to wear shorts. It makes me wonder...if she's this picky now, how will she be as a teenager? I don't want to think about it. :-)

My 4yr old is the opposite, she loves jeans and wants to wear them all the time. She has cerebral palsy so she has AFO's on her legs so we have to buy jeans that will fit over them (she also wears de-rotational bands... fun!) Its a good thing she's skinny so the bands fit around her waist and the pants still fit.

She has a lot of leggings because they work well under her AFO's. She only wore tights at her orphanage in Ukraine and she honestly HATES them now... I think she was toally burnt out wearing them every day and night, even in the summer.

My 3 year old has to wear a uniform to pre-school, but on the weekends, she will cry if she cannot wear a skirt or a dress. They all have their own issues :)
