Hi L.,
I do moms day out at my in home daycare. Its where you drop off for about 4hours and go and just relax. Most of my moms go for a pedicure or manicure, massage, facial, lunch with the girls or just catch up on grocery shopping without taking the kids with.
It works out really well around the holidays and summer. Who couldnt use a few hours of peace and quiet?
hope this helps you out - and you get some relaxing time.
S.

Basically it's time away from your kid or kids. Maybe where u go out with your friends or a loved one and just spend some free time doing something you enjoy.

Hi L.. It is usually sponsored by churches, and offers childcare & some instruction (depending on the program and the age of the child), so that mom's can have a day or two per week free. I had never heard about it, until I moved to Indianapolis - I lived in Carmel, IN, but I am origionally from Chicago. It was very popular in Indy, and many churches had a "Mommy's Day or Morning Out". I now live in Central Illinois and I believe there to be only one church in my area who offers the program. I know in Carmel, it was very inexpensive, as compared to traditional child care or babysitting. My children went to the program at our church and I LOVED it & so did they. They generally fill up fast, and start taking applications in January for the following year! Hope this helps!

My son is in it one day a week for four hours-and it's a nice break for me to get out and do my thing, but for him it's like pre-school. We both love it.

There are several programs in the TriCity area. Some are with the park districts but most are with the churches. Some are called Parents' Day out. The program in Batavia is at the Batavia United Methodist Church and is starting reg in March. The Batavia program is ages 2yo to 5yo(pre kindergarten) they do not need to be potty trained. It is Tues thru Friday, from 9:15a-1:15p the children bring a lunch. The price is inexpensive, some programs are started with the moms volunteering. The Parents Day out program in Batavia can be reached at the church phone ####-###-#### or online. Hope that helps. The Geneva United Methodist Church also has a program, do not know the days or times though.
