I like the baby bjorn potty chair for a boy. The front piece doesn't snap off, so it's easier to make sure the pee stays in the seat, and with only one removeable piece, it's easy to clean.
I'm going to start potty training my 18 month old son since he's so fascinated with the toilet. I'm thinking of getting a potty chair, but not sure which is a good one.

We also used the Baby Bjorn potty chair (bought it on Amazon) for our son. It only has two pieces (a bowl and the base) so its SUPER easy to clean, transport to Grandparents' homes, and use to teach potty training. The front has a high raised ridge to catch sprays of urine. The bowl is big enough that kids can see themselves pee whi$e sitting, which was a huge motivator for our son. Good luck!
I used to fisher price royal step potty. Worked awesome as a potty and a stool. Once he got the hang of it, I pulled the music maker thing out of the bottom. It comes out pretty easily. But we still used it as a stool even after he was well aware of how to use it.
Beware of the seats that just snap on. I had gotten one of those and because toilets are all so different, it didn't anywhere near fit.
Best of luck!
I used the Baby Bjorn potty chair with both my kids.
I have a boy and a girl.
It works with both.
My kids liked it.
My son still uses his Fisher Price frog potty.
We got a the cheap fisher price green and blue frog one at walmart but he didn't use it much he both of my boys preferred to stand
