This question is asked here almost every day. If you do a search, you will find a variety of answers.
That being said, most WFH jobs are mlm's. Unless you are already in a business that would support you working from home, it is very hard to find something that isn't a scam.

I posted these to a friend before. Been there and try to help others. They are ligitimate and not parties:p

This site posts some stuff...

http://moneymakingmommy.com/Work-At-Home-Blog/

There is a lot available if you know how to use the internet and have a phone line:)

also womenforhire.com has a lot of tips and then here are some customer service jobs online that are legit...

alpineaccess.com or westathome.com (supposedly most of these make $8-14 an hour).

two more for you--if you are fast at typing go to www.GMRTranscription.com to transcribe interviews and speeches into text (75 words per min. min. but you get up to $500 a week)

teamdoubleclick.com to be virtual assistant ($12-25 per hour) working at home making appts., fielding calls, typing letters, bookkeeping, etc. Ok hope this helps....I was there once:) Please let me know if you have questions. I found an online tutoring job (as a teacher at home with my kids) and love it. Although since then I started tutoring in-home and started my own business as well.

I would suggest checking out a site called workplacelikehome.com.This is where you can get real opinions from people who have tried a job and let you know about scams, etc. This is a really great place to get good information. I found out about some writing jobs on this site.

I think the key word is "work." Whatever you do from home will be a lot of work.

Most all of the work-at-home opportunities consist of marketing some product to others. You have your Creative Memories, Mary Kay, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Shaklee, Prepaid Legal, Avon, Party Lite, etc. etc. ad nauseum.

So ask yourself, are you willing to market some product to others? Are you willing to go to sales meetings, learn about your product, cold call, call from a list, email, hold parties, sell to your friends and make new contacts? It really doesn't matter which product you sell (although you should sell something you believe in) you're going to be a salesperson. You're going to have to put some money into the "business" and you're going to have to work hard to make money out of it. There's nothing wrong with Multi-Level-Marketing schemes, you CAN make money but you will make out of it what you put in. And if you're not cut out for sales then you won't make anything.

The other work-at-home opportunities will depend on other skills you have. You could do data entry, call for Amvets or Purple Heart, proofread, etc. If you're crafty you could sell stuff on etsy.

You could also babysit or start your own at-home daycare.

I proofread, edit videos and sell crafts at home.

Good luck to you!

Hey N.! Check out the website www.wahm.com. They post jobs that are work from home that are compiled from advertisements around the country. You can also check out monster.com and stuff like that and there are some WAH jobs on those websites. I too work for an MLM at home and love my company, but won't add to the onslaught of people pushing you to join them - LOL! Anyway, check out the wahm.com website since they do post a variety of things. Good luck!

I did Pampered Chef for a while which was fine, but I am not much for giving the presentations (usually in the evenings). I have a few girls in my local area that made lots of money doing it though and really enjoyed the parties. It depends on if that appeals to you and I wouldn't get into it (or the other similar businesses) unless it sounds fun to you. I did really love the products and the discounts, but was never dedicated enough to get regular about it. My job experience prior to kids was in public affairs, writing and photography. Now I dabble in freelance writing and photos. I don't make a steady income - it is just extra spending money. And I figure it builds my portfolio until my kids are in school. We drastically cut our expenses so that I could stay home on my husbands military paycheck. I do things here and there to make extra money like baking during the holidays, tutoring, dog sitting. Stuff I probably would have considered very unglamorous when I was a career girl! But I get to be with my kids and it is less stressful than juggling a real career. I have a good friend who does in home daycare (certified) and makes decent money and gets GREAT tax write offs. She loves it because she can be with her kids all day and has steady income.

Hi, my name is Tiffani! I'm a full-time wife and mommy three beautiful girls ages 1, 2 and 4! Needless to say, I'm a very busy lady with very little time on my hands! I wanted to start a home business to supplement my family’s income, but I could never find anything that was legitimate AND worked around my busy schedule! What I finally found was a company that was risk free, reputable & over 25 years old. There are no hidden fees, no selling and no inventory.

What I do:
Market my free website (training provided)
Dial people into overview calls
Set up online accounts
Mentor others
Earn residual income that builds over time.

What I do not do:
Buy inventory
Sell Products
Take orders
Telemarket

You can work part time or full time depending on your income goals, everything is month to month, no contracts or quotas, no monthly fees. I call the shots and spend as much time with my kids as I need.
I got started shortly after giving birth to my third daughter, so I know anyone can do this. It definitely requires hard work and determination, but it is so worth it. I am not only working to supplement my family’s income, but to also help my husband and I achieve our dreams of being home full time with our children and having time flexibility. If you are in the same situation as I was and you'd like more information go to my website at: http://www.workathomeunited/txmommy.

You can view the link that says view more and then if you would like me to contact you, please click the link that says Get More Info. Now! and give some basic information and I get back to you!

Do you know how to create a resume? I worked for an online resume-writing company called Resume Edge. Their website has a link to applying for a position. After a client places an order and fills out a questionnaire, it is emailed to a resume editor (you). You call the client (on the company's dime) to discuss their resume options and then you have 48 hours to write a resume and email it to the client. You get paid per order. There is a resume writing guide that is supplied to you. If you know how to write resumes, this is a stupendous opportunity.

You really have gotten a lot of responses, and I agree, that a home based business can provide great flexibility and income and you can work as hard as you choose. If you are interested in a "party" company, check out www.stelladot.com/melissamerz and see if you love the product. Stella and Dot is a new trend based jewelry business and the earning potential is really unlimited. A friend of mine makes between $15-20K monthly....really not joke! I am trying get there. Let me know if you would like more information. If jewelry isn't for you, definitely try to find something that you have an interest and/or passion in, it will make it a lot more meaningful for you.

Good Luck.

Hi N.,
Tons of great advice. There are definitely work at home opportunities, but please be careful when looking into them. There are just as many, if not more, scams. If there is a fee to get involved with a work at home company, that's a red flag.

When my kids were younger, I did some mystery shopping to earn a little extra money. That too, though, check out and make sure they are reliable companies. You should not pay to join a mystery shopping company.

One way to earn extra money is doing direct sales. Find something that you can get passionate about though. It's easier to present things that excite you. With direct sales though there are start up fees for the kits, but the value is usually worth more than the cost. I'm with Dove Chocolate Discoveries™ and it's been great so far, but it is a business and I treat it that way. Right now we have a $79 kit offer that expires at the end of May. You can go to www.dovechocolatediscoveries.com/L. and see what we're all about if you are interested.

If you're intersted, send me an email ____@____.com with a good time to connect with you next week, or ask for more info from my website www.workathomeunited.com/joycita and I'll help get you into a phone presentation (absolutly no obligation, purely informative) and get you all the info I can about what it is that we do. I found the perfect work from home job a couple of months ago. I am still working full-time, but hope to be working exclusively from home some day. It has been a life saver because I’m able to get some extra money by putting in a couple hours a week. You can work at your own pace and make your family’s schedule BEFORE your work schedule. This may be something that works for you and your schedule. If you’re interested, let me know and we can talk more.

There is a big difference between work from home jobs and work from home businesses. One of the keys is to decide which you want.

If you're looking for a business, I highly recommend Discovery Toys. I started it in November and I'm really enjoying it so far. The products are amazing and fun - my whole family loves playing with the toys. The presentations are easy because it's all about playing and toys...it's the most fun I've ever had while working.

Another bonus - our annual conference is in Chicago this year! So it would be easy for you to attend and gain some really valuable training and information without having to pay any travel expenses.

If you want to learn more, please visit my website and send me an email.

With some direct selling companies you have to recruit people to be your down line to make money.........

The company I'm with, you can make money on your own. Yes, you can make more if you get a down line, but you don't have to. I make an average of $240 per party that I have, not bad for a couple hours work. The initial investment is $139.00 for about $800.00 worth of product........ But, they also have a way to get your "kit" with no money.

The company has been in business for over 15 years and is new to this area so every other person on the block isn't selling the same stuff!!!!

I'm not good at speaking in front of people so I have a little outline that I follow, just so I remember everything. You just have to tell the girls a little about the product and then the product sells its self!!! We have great specials that help too…………….

You also have to do what you LOVE, if you love jewelry and want more information check out our catalogs and email me…………
Products have a lifetime guarantee.

Dear N.,

I'm always looking for reps and if you are open to more information and interested in creating some income, whatever that may look like to you, please contact me.

My passion is prevention through whole food and a revolutionary product line called JuicePlus+. Have you heard of it? FYI, we are all about giving people a way to have the flexibility of still being available for their children as they grow up but also giving them a purpose that touches families in a very powerful way.
N., my website has a free 12 minute video on it which is
www.vineripejuiceplus.com and a picture is worth a thousand words. If you are serious about having your own business from home, let's talk.

My very best,

P.S. We are a DEBT FREE company by the way! We are the no-risk, no-overhead business that just about anyone willing to devote a few hours a week can do and I would love to talk to you about it.
