I'm comparing phone and internet rates since we want to drop Comcast Triple Play (as I said in another post). Want o switch to AT&T U-Verse but it' s not available in Snohomish County in Washington. What phone service do you use?

What can I do next?

Don't use a land line haven't in like 10 years.
I recommend Sprint. We have a Family Plan through them with Android phones that we got for free.
Really good phones and service, quite affordable.
No reason to pay for a land line, can't use it when you are not home, can't do as much with a land line, just my opinion.

ETA
I agree you really don't need television service anymore either.
Get good internet an antenna, netfix and hulu and you are set.
Cable and land lines are going the way of the (insert extinct thing here).

We use to have Verizon but do not like them...for land line OR cell. They enjoy raising this rate or that rate constantly.

Then we tried Vonage. We prepaid for a year to get a discount. All was good until they charged our CC for another whole year 2 months before current year was up. Not cool. When hubby called and asked for the charge to be removed they said if they were to do that it would cut off our services immediately.....even the 2 months we had left that we had already paid for. They got dropped like a hot potato.

We then bought an OOMA box. $200. That's IT!!! We haven't had a phone bill in over 2 years. You pay $200 for the box, either keep your same phone # or choose to get a new one, it uses your current Internet service and that's it. Local,'long distance...all for $200 flat fee. Not too shabby, huh? Check it out!

We've tried several....DISH was my favorite, but they kept raising rates so we jumped ship! We switched to AT&T and the Internet was good, but went out a lot with the crappy equipment that was always getting fried. I MUST say that AT&T has the worse customer service I have ever experienced in my life! They "inadvertently" disconnected our service to install the Uverse we never ordered, so we were out of service for a week until they could correct the problem. They were like "sorry, our bad...buh to the bye biotch"! Then we switched to Time Warner...great customer service/the best, BUT...the cable service was awful. Noooow, we have Verizon FIOS and are very happy!!!

When we dumped Qwest a number of years ago we used Vonage and LOVED it. We only cancelled them because we were using our cell's so much. I highly recommend it.

We have Vonage (for 4 years now) and are very satisfied with their service.
Right now though I am thinking about dropping it because we barely use our "landline" anymore. I would take a good look at you phone habits and see whether you really need a landline anymore.

We dropped all of comcast except the high speed internet about a year ago. It was a bit of an adjustment but we are very happy with the savings and still enjoy our TV. We do a combination of Broadcast TV (free over the air), Netflix streaming ($9/month), free Hulu and occasionally pay for a show/movie on Amazon streaming or I-tunes that we really want to watch.

We would change our internet too, but they do have the fastest/most reliable service...
Good luck.

We are in the same location and use Vonage for our home phone service. We've been very happy with them.

Have you tried calling Comcast? I talked to the customer loyalty dept last week and got my bill lowered from $165 per month to $109. It's worth the phone call and letting them know that you are unhappy and planning on leaving. I don't think you will find all three services for $50.

We have AT&T for internet and TV (U-Verse). For phone, we use MAGIC JACK--$20 a year. I have liked it so far.

When we had Verizon we had too many problems. Static, you could here the person but the buzz like when your phone is off the hook would start and unlike comcast (they don't charge to come out unless it's your phone, tv, computer that's bad) Verizon charges big bucks every time they come to your house, you have to pay for features that aren't available in your area and their inernet sucks! You won't save $$$ on phone with Verizon they are more expensive for phone than comcast unless you can get a bundle but Verizon tv isn't available in my area heck you can't even access voicemail in my area if you have Verizon but you have to pay for it. When we had Verizon it was like $80 a month for phone!!! Comcast is $25 and if you have phone they don't tell you but the basic channels will come in on your tv :)
We use mostly our cell phones. AT&T was giving out the signal booster for your house for free if you live in bad service areas. We were able to lower our bill by reducing our monthly minutes and adding unlimited text/mobile to mobile. If you have cell phones you might consider not having a landline.

We use Comcast for our landline and internet...we tried Verizon and had way too many problems...

Our cell carrier is Verizon and I don't have problems with them for CELL...

We don't have AT&T land here...our choices are Comcast and Verizon. There are some smaller companies but we didn't venture down that road!

GOOD LUCK!!

I actually like Verizon for my cell phone. Never had any issues. I hate Sprint. They were nothing but trouble and when I cancelled them they played bad and said I didnt etc and tried to get more money out of me. ATT I had for internet and hated them because their service would go out in the middle of the weekend all the time. Not reliable at all. Currently we have comcast for internet and phone and we are happy with them. I had them for cable at some point but did not like the customer service on that side of it. I do note though as soon as we signed up for comcast we got a lot extra sales calls.
