My daughter is leaving her Pre-K teacher this week to be transitioned to next level class. She spent last 10 months with her and really liked all of her teachers (2 of them), and My husband and I couldn't agree with her more. We really like to get her something on the last day (Thursday) as a token of appreciateion, but need help to come up with ideas from you. We have done choc for V-day, gift cards for Christmas already.

Thanks mamas

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the sugguestions moms - we ended up going to Home Depot and got two pots of plants with my daughters autograph on it. Unfortunately, I am not an art person, and have no creativity at all, so there's a lot of cute personal stuff I can't make without people showing me exactly how to do it. Pedicure will be a great gift, unfortunatly we sometimes have our favorite ones, like mine is near downdown that I am going out of my way to go.

Again, thank you for all the support and recommendations! :-)

I was so grateful for the wonderful care my child had. The potty training alone was incredible. I gave a $25 gift card to Fridays, a book and a box of chocolates.

I am a teacher and my favorite gifts have been the ones that I have for a long time and that remind me of the precious child they came from. For example, last year one of my students and his mom gave me a necklace that is on a leather rope and it is a puzzle piece. I love it and it makes me smile and happy to wear it and think of that student. Another favorite is a plaque that says "inspire." Hope that helps spark some ideas.

I would have her make a card & then put a gift card in it. I love nick nacks as much as the next person but w/ a gift card they can always buy what they really want or need. I have done Chilis, and Sonic and Target in the past. I did Sonic because I knew the teacher well enough to know they went there all the time to get vanilla cokes. Some people don't like manicures & pedicures so I would find out before you buy them that just to be on the safe side.

Why don't you have your daughter draw a picture or do some art and write a thank you card. I have done this with my daughter for her teachers and they love it! it's special and sweet and made by your child!

I agree with the last response about the peidcure gift card...I would have loved that when I was a preschool teacher! I always liked the lotions, b/c my skin was always so dry from constantly washing my hands all day. Anything that pampers is nice, even if it's small.

Surely your daughter has made some type of artwork in the past year. Take the artwork to Kinko's and have them scan it and make notecards. I did this with my son's artwork and it makes a great one of a kind gift.

A favorite gift among my kids teachers has been a gift card for blockbuster and a package of microwave popcorn. I've also done a coke and a jumbo Hersheys bar and teachers like that as well. Anything is appreciated. Lately I've given a few items from Bath and Body works in the small size - the antibacterial lotion and hand wash is always good. The teachers like to put it on their desk for during the day.

There is a pottery studio in Down town mcKinney and you can pain your own plate, or other gift and they fire it for you and then you pick it up... its PERFECT for personal gifts like that... have your toddler help you by painting and hand printing... the teacher will love it. you can even make a cup or many more options for her to enjoy.

I also make custom gifts and party favors when out my website www.celebritypartyfavors.com

Maybe a gift card for a pedicure at a nice salon or something....I would eat that up as a teacher.

If the teacher has a regular classroom (not like one that doubles as a church classrom) and the teacher uses a theme (like the circus, butterflies, frogs) to decorate, you might have your child paint something using that theme and frame it for the teacher to hang in the room. This is last minute, so you may have to use crayons or a hairdryer to dry paint, but it is something original that the teacher can keep and display for a long time.

Something personal like a picture frame she could maybe use in her house or at school. Maybe even a Christmas ornament. I love to go to Canton and always pick up these inscribable plates. They are in the older part of Canton across the st fm the animals and they are only $5!!! They come w/the plate, the ribbon to threat thru it, the stand, and a marker to write on it. I change the ribbon out for different holidays. It is similar to the Southern Living plate but much less expensive. Just an idea:)
