What Takes Permanent Marker off Linoleum?

Try "Awesome". It's a spray spot remover that you can buy for one dollar at The Dollar Tree in Jasper or Tell City, IN. I don't know if it will work on permanent marker but it works for almost everything. It's worth a try.

LOL... I know how you feel try 1part peroxide to 2 parts water, let it set for about 30 min, then scrub with dish brush. Fun stuff! you may have to do it 2-3 X depending.

See if Sharpie has a web site and if they know what will remove it. If you have some of the floor left over you can get a professional to cut it out and replace it and seal it off. Or a through rug...

My neighbor had the same problem only the picture was on the floor, walls, and all over grandmas anique furniture, I read your request on friday and asked her over the weekend, she said the used pet stain remover, i guess it works on everything. God Luck

Try Goo-Gone. They sell it in hardware at most megamarts. Usually near paint.

I've tried toothpaste for taking black marker off of stuff like my table, computer, kid's face and arms..lol..it works pretty good so far. Good luck.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Go over the spot with a wet cloth after you use the eraser.

I use a combination of 1oz. of MelaMagic annd 1 capful of Sol-U-Mel nixedd in 8oz of water. As long as the surface hasn't been sealed.

go online to Sharpie's website. they have great tips for removing thier ink from things!

I used the Mr. Clean magic eraser to take sharpie off of my kitchen table. It worked like a charm!

My mom buys this can of cleaner and it works on everything. It's from ECOLAB and called Spary Cleaner. Good luck.

If you can get it, 100% ethanol (not the isopropyl "rubbing" alcohol you buy in the pharmacy but 200 proof absolute denatured ethanol for industrial use) will dissolve sharpie ink. We use it to remove sharpie pen marks from glass, plastic & metal labware - with the denatured industrial stuff it doesn't take much and the ink just wipes right off. If you know anyone who works in a biology/ecology/chemistry lab, they can probably get you a little bit to do the job. Otherwise, you might just try the strongest cheap, uncolored ethanol you can find at the liquor store. 200 proof is best, but anything over 140-160 proof will probably take it off with some rubbing.

Four things came to mind - two of which have already been mentioned - Mr Clean magic eraser and WD-40. The other two are Hydrogen peroxide mixed with water (test in a pantry or something to make sure it wont discolor - i have used it and it didn't discolor my floor) and mineral spirits.

Good Luck - if all else fails a nice area rug would definatley do the trick!

I don't have any advice about the marker, but I was touched by your "A little about me" response. I would love to be of some help if at all possible. What kind of life advice are you looking for?

WD-40 will work on a lot of things. You should try it. I have put attached the website for the many unofficial uses of WD-40. I use it to wax my hard wood floors and it does not make them slippery. Good luck and let me know if it works on the sharpie.

Mr. Clean has some eraser that is supposed to work wonders on removing things off of walls, so it would be worth a try to use it on the floor!

If you try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, be careful. It's actually made of a micro-fine abrasive--like fine sand paper. So if you scrub anything too hard, it will take the surface off--trust me, try rubbing it on a painted wall or wallpaper. Ugh. It might take just the top layer off the floor, though. Worth a try, I guess considering it's that or a big black mark on your floor. Good luck. :)

I would try Mr. Clean magic eraser a friend of mine got marker off her wall using it.

try spraying some aerosol hairspray on it. i've done it and it works, but you might hae to do it a couple of times. or maybe a clorox bleach pin.

I had this same problem today and found that the only thing that worked for me was wetting a paper towel with isoprophyl alcohol dipping it in baking soda and scrubbing at the marks. Dip your towel in the baking soda often. This worked on my refrigerator as well.

Well I can relate. I've had artwork on my walls more than once and the Mr. Clean erasers have been a miracle. It sounds like you've tried everything and you might just have to surrender to the fact that you will have to look at it until you can replace it. Stress?? I have learned that you have to make time for yourself even if it makes you feel selfish or guilty. Sometimes even the people around you (spouse, parents) can make you feel guilty. The day you give birth guilt is a part of your life forever. It's natural. But whether anyone understand it or not....do something YOU want to do that will make you smile and enjoy yourself even if it's locking yourself in your room for a bit! And don't take everything or everyone SO SERIOUSLY! For moms and wives life is chaos most of the time....comes with the job. But think of the stories you'll have to tell. I assure you everyone else will laugh at them so why shouldn't you? I don't know if you're a working mom or stay-at-home mom, but I have been both and I have learned that the more you laugh at things going wrong, the easier it is to deal with them, fix them, and move on without causing yourself to have a stroke. Perfection doesn't exist. Children are always screwing up, jobs don't really care how much you have on your plate as long as you're on top of your game at work, and husbands truly don't have a clue. That's just the way it is. So the sooner you surrender to that....the better off you'll be. Find your release and always remember that if you stretch yourself too thin....you just might dissapear.

There's stuff called Gook Off - it's at Home Depot type places around the painting supplies. It gets everything off linoleum!!

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I swear by the thing. It's taken pen and scuff marks off walls and removed stains from our counter top. I live in an apt and there was a gross red stain from the tenants before us, and it took it right off. The thing is a small miracle! And it's really inexpensive, which is another added bonus!

Try a Magic Eraser from Mr. Clean. It's the best thing I can think of. If that doesn't work you could try Mean Green super strength cleaner. It gets a lot out but it does have stinky fumes. Keep the room ventalated.

It works like nothing you have seen.

I would try Krud Kutter. I think they make wipes and a spray. I know it took wall paint off outlet covers, etc. It can be strong. I used it the first time to remove tree sap from linoleum that I thought would never come up! You should be able to find it at Kmart or Walmart.

I haven't tried it personally, but I hear magic erasers take just about anything off. My best friend used one on sharpie on her wall and there's no trace of what was there. I assume it would have the same result on linoleum and be fine.

Try using a bleach pen or bleach but be careful, and any remainder you should try the new magic eraser (Mr. Clean) with one orange side and the other side white. That is the best product I have found for any cleaning.

Try just basic finger nail polish remover....either with or without acitone...it might work...J.

Other companies make a version of the Magic Eraser, just get what ever's on sale, they are all the same:)

i use the those mrclean magic erasers they are like a white foam sponge and you wetten them them scrub. It has worked for me. I thought i'd let you know G.

If the marker is still there, try putting germx or another hand cleaner on it. It takes permanent marker off the whiteboards at school with my students have picked up the wrong marker and written on it.
