I would think IN the box for a picky person. Gift cards (iTunes is a staple here) or candy. You can make the card a cute holder.
What is a cute stocking stuffer (or two) that I can make for a teen?
She's very picky & throws a lot of things I give her away so I'm trying to think outside the box.
I still want to give her something. If she chooses to throw things away, then that's on her but I won't play that game.
I just don't spend a lot. I have a ton of regular gifts but was wondering wanting some SS ideas.
I already have some small SS items purchased. Just wanting to be creative & add some cute little things.
TIA

Nail files, Tweezers, Nail clippers, nail polish
Mints, gum, a magazine like People, Seventeen, US
I love going to The Container Store, Walgreens, or Target and picking up cool stuff there.
I'm a little curious as to why you'd want to give her MORE gifts that she might throw away (rude, unappreciative, ungrateful???), if you've already got a "ton of regular gifts"? That doesn't make much sense to me. I'm not trying to be rude, I can only go by the portrayal you've given here, but I'm thinking that if some teen is such a spoiled ingrate as to throw away gifts, she doesn't deserve any.
1 month Netflix pass, box of microwave popcorn, and a box of her favorite movie candy.
I use $$. I take various bills and roll them up and tie a ribbon around them.
Yesterday I saw the cutest no damage hair ties displayed so on a card
board candy cane in multi colors and I got those for my daughter. There were 50 hair ties for .99.

What is something she uses a lot of something that is a favorite candy or snack? I have ALWAYS since daughter was born put one of the original LifeSavers books in her stocking. Gloves, scarf, super soft socks, travel hand lotion for her purse, calculator for school, phone case, small box of Godiva chocolates, home made fudge, etc.
Is she just picky and that is why she throws things away? I try to think of things my daughter uses a lot of... gift cards and cash. With the GC and cash, she does her own shopping and my daughter loves to shop. My daughter (turns 19 this week) and I have a deal if we get something we won't use, we trade with each other.
Merry Christmas!
I make my kids cinnamon sugar and put it in spice shakers from the dollar store. They like to make cinnamon toast.

Don't bother, getting actual things for the stocking. As you said, she is super picky and throws most everything away, that you give her.
If you make something, she will throw that away, too.
Don't bother.
Or simply ask her, what her wish list is.
So you do not have to guess.
If that were my daughter, I would just bluntly tell her "you throw everything away that I give you. So, you have sabotaged your own, joy in this. There is nothing much that I can, give you."
I'm not exactly the crafty creative type, so if this were me I'd check out Pinterest and put homemade gifts into the search bar.
little sachets for her drawers. get scented oils and/or herbs, wrap them in cute cloth and tie with a ribbon.
I've never made stocking stuffers, to be honest. For my teens, I usually do pens/pencils, candy/snacks, grooming items like toothbrush/toothpaste/chap-
stick, Dunkin or Starbucks giftcard, scratch off ticket, batteries, ear buds, gloves. Good luck in coming up with something she'll like. Maybe you could hand paint/design a mug and put that in with her favorite tea/cocoa?
Homemade luggage tags. I am doing that as well (though I am running out of time!). Martha Stewart has a nice demo on it, but there are a lot of options out there.
