What's the BEST Lotion in the WORLD?

My husband has severe eczema, and we are taking care of the flare-ups from the inside out with various remedies, but he needs a really great moisturizing lotion. What is the BEST lotion you have ever used? I don't care about cost. If it works and it's awesome, I don't care what it costs.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

FYI, Eucerin sucks. It literally burns his skin. There's alcohol in it, which isn't very smart for an 'eczema' treatment.

Lush - Dream Cream ... but I think that they have one more geared towards Eczema or that may be the one .. I have really dry skin and this is what I use ... I LOVE IT, a touch pricey but really worth it and if you use it well the cost is nothing. Plus I think this is one of their Vegan products. I would go into a store to try the products out and talk to one of their people, the ones I have spoken to are really educated on the products.

Cetaphil cream or Cerave cream. A little pricey, but totally worth it. I have used it on my hands and both of my boys. My youngest breaks out from head to toe with eczema and it will usually clear him up in about 2 days. We also use the Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser. Hope this helps!

Melaleuca's renew lotion is the best! I've never found anything better and it's helped my severe dry skin and eczema better than any RX! My doctor introduced me to this lotion 5 years ago and I've been using it ever since. I only put it on once a day too. I have a lot of extra samples if you PM me your address, I'll mail you one.

My husband has very dry skin. His scalp and face "break out" from the dryness. He swears by Aveeno Overnight Intense Relief.

* I have heard Eucerin is specifically for your husband's condition.

Aquafore or Vaseline, use it religiously... BUT, he should probably go get a prescription for the really bad flare ups, like Elidel...

I love Avon Moisture Therapy. The little pot is good too but I love the tube because I can use it at any time and it leaves very little residue. I have the bottles, the pots, and the tubes of it everywhere in my house. I do sometimes use the moisture therapy lotion that has oatmeal in it too, when I am especially itchy.

My skin is pretty dry so I literally wash my hands, dry, then put on the lotion. Same as getting out of the shower.

I use the style that is white with the dark blue print on it:

Aquaphor for open skin. Neutragena norweigan formula for "healed" skin. Eucerin has great body wash . It's in a gold bottle . Also, non scented detergent and regular hand soap (not antibacterial). There is a prescription called Dermasmooth oil(with steroid) that you can also get without prescription. Good luck ;)

Body Shop's body butters -- either the Vitamin E or Aloe Vera. Both are super mild (I have sensitive skin, although no eczema) but extra moisturizing. They're thick but absorb terrifically. Not greasy, just eliminates the dryness entirely.

Mustella Stelatopia cream worked in just a couple days for my son. It does cost a lot $17 I think, but my sons skin was like sand paper with excema ALL over him. It was newborn soft with in just 2 days, not kidding. I even used to use it and I loved it. I think you have to buy it online now. Bath and body works used to sell it, but they stopped a few years ago.

I LOVE CALIFORNIA BABY!!!! Expensive as all get out, but SOOOO worth it.
Mustella Stelatopia didn't work the worlds greatest for us. It didn't get worse, but slowly got better, but then stopped working :(
Sorry I'm a little late in answering. I went on a no mamapedia month. It was weird.

This isnt really a cream that he could use all over but if there are severe patches that he could use relief from I promise that Lanolin Nipple Cream for breastfeeding mothers will do the trick. Its pretty pricey for a small tube but you need the smallest amount and it is serious stuff that is okay to be ingested by a newborn so you know its safe. This stuff is phenominal and will definitely do the trick for problem areas. But like I said its not a cream that you can just rub all over so its more of a spot treatment
Good Luck

Aquaphillic! (NOT Aquaphor-- that stuff's nasty) comes in a generic tub and it's unscented too, so it's grea for use on men and boys. Last time I bought it (a tub lasts FOREVER) Walgreen's had it behind the pharmacy counter (but you don't need a Rx)

I see you have a ton of answers and I didn't read them all, so I don't know if this is a repeat....I have the driest skin known to man. Seriously my kids told me my superhero name would be "dry skin girl" she sucks all the moisture out of you!
I learned years ago to use baby oil in the shower. After you turn off the water and before you dry off. Now they make a concentrated baby oil less watery so it doesn't get all over the shower floor. In the 80's our shower could be a deadly place! The J&J oil works better than the generic. I wouldn't be able to survive my skin without doing this! They also make a back sponge on a stick so you can get it on your back too. I buy printed towels use the tuft side for my skin (with the oil on it) and the print side for my hair (so I don't get baby oil in my hair). Give it a try...Good Luck!

(Edited) I had milder excema - mostly on my face. Doc suggested using Cetaphil gentle skin cleansner and Neutrogena sensitive face moisturizer. Works really well. There were other OTC medications suggested too, but it's been a while and I can't remember because I used just cetaphil and Neutrogena. Eucerin (hope this is the right spelling) was one of them. And also Cerave. Also, I know Aquaphor works well, I use it for my baby.

I get severe eczema on my hands in the winter and those help a lot. The other thing I do (works for hands or feet) is slather vaseline on and then put a sock on and it absorbs while I sleep.

My kids have eczema, although it is mild...not severe. Cerave cream is great. I get it from Costco. I like the cream much more than the lotion. The Cerave cream is NOT greasy like Eucerin!
