What Times Does Your 10 / 11 Month Old Nap

My 10 month 3 week old normally naps around 10 am and again at 2pm. But this week he has had a hard time going down for his 2nd nap. He just doesn't seem ready at 2pm. Today I tried pushing his nap back to 2:30pm but he is still awake and it's 2:52pm.

When do or when did your kids at this age?

What can I do next?

Some days they just don't nap. And then they go right back to normal. I wouldn't worry about it too much. That's the beauty of having a routine rather than a schedule. Routines are flexible for baby's needs. There were days with both my little ones that they just didn't nap and the next day they were right back to their routine.

But the timing really depends on how long they are up between naps. I think the "norm" is somewhere around 3-4 hours after waking they'll go back down at you son's age.

Well my son was still napping 3 times a day for the 1st year.
Then, he napped twice a day from about 1-almost 3 years old.
Then now, he is 3, and he still naps once a day.
He needs it.

What time does your baby wake up in the morning?
Maybe try putting him down for the 1st nap earlier. At that age, my son was napping earlier. By 9:00am. He'd nap for 2 hours. Still does.

Every baby is different.
I would not take away naps just yet... glitches do happen. Just keep to a routine for naps and bedtime. It gets synchronized again.

Try earlier rather than later, because an overtired or overstimulated child often has a harder time falling and staying asleep.

If your little guy is learning something new, or just about to, like walking or learning to communicate with words, his brain may be working overtime. The excitement might be making it harder for him to sleep. When my grandson reached those points, I would lay down with him in a dark room and tell him stories in a soft, lulling voice. He couldn't stay awake longer than 10-20 minutes, no matter how hard he tried. I'd get to take a load off, and it was a precious time for both of us.

My 11 month old naps at 10 and then again at 2ish. She has had a harder time napping lately so we will probably try and go to one 11 or 11:30 nap soon. I am not a strict schedule type a mom, i really just go by how she seems to be feeling and whenever she gets tired, even for bed time, but she normally can only make it to 8 before she gets really grumpy.

My 10 month old just went from 3 naps to 2 naps about 2 months ago. His first nap is usually at 9am and his afternoon nap is usually at 3pm. He used to nap at 1:30pm when he was taking 3 naps a day but ever since he skipped his later afternoon nap he doesn't want to go down for a nap until 3pm. Today we have visitors so he didn't nap until 4pm which is about 30 minutes ago. I try to put him down a bit earlier than his nap time because he doesn't fall asleep right away most of the time and if he is overtired it takes him even longer. There were one or two times that I can remember where he only took his morning nap and that was it but that also means he went to bed earlier.
